Nandan Terry Ltd. is a name that has become synonymous with quality terry towel products. The company is conquering the market gradually and aims to make its mark firmly in the international market. A part of the Ahmedabad-based business conglomerate, the Chiripal Group, Nandan Terry has emerged as a one-stop shop for terry towel products, gaining reputation as a quality manufacturer and exporter in quick time. Chiripal Group has 50+ years’ experience in running textile companies and having control over textile supply chains. This legacy is being continued by Ronak Chiripal, the company’s CEO, by venturing into the terry towel segment.

His drive and panache for latest technology urged Nandan Terry to adopt best modern technology for terry towel manufacturing. The product range offered by the company includes terry towel products from bath towels, beach towels, kitchen towels, terry bath mats to wash gloves, etc. “Nandan Terry is poised to provide end-to-end product service to our respected customers from product design, development to delivering at their doorsteps. We believe in ultimate customer service. We keep sharing updates about the raw material situation and our new developments,” states Ronak Chiripal.

Production Infrastructure

Going into details regarding the company’s manufacturing infrastructure, Ronak mentions that Nandan Terry is a vertically integrated terry towel manufacturing and exporting unit and has some of the most modern terry weaving looms and advanced manufacturing setup. “Our weaving capacity is augmented by 102 high-speed modern looms comprising 78 dobby and 24 jacquards. And we are enhancing our production capacity to meet demands of our customers by 25% by doubling the jacquard looms,” he adds. As regards new products and innovation initiatives, Ronak points out that the company believes in developing its own products and designs to cater to ever-demanding customers. Their in-house design and product development teams keep coming up with new design ideas.

These ideas also include new patterns, colours or yarn innovations. “The Ellison towel collection is our latest offering which is an innovation in yarn technology. Towels made from Ellison yarn are very soft, lint-less and devoid of harmful chemicals. We also have a repertoire of a number of terry products to cater to our customers’ demands. Vigora cotton hemp blend towel is another amazing offering and so is the lightweight QNZERVE towel, among other products,” he informs. According to Ronak, the company has a robust presence across India and is also supplying to reputed vendors globally. The company’s revenue is 70% from exports and 30% from Indian buyers.

An Edge over Competitors

Citing the key reasons that give the company a competitive edge, Ronak says, “We are located in Gujarat and that gives us a location advantage of being near to ports, thus cutting the transit time of finished goods. This being a cotton-growing region helps Nandan Terry to control raw material supplies. We are flexible in our approach, have customer-driven policies and focus on product innovation.” The company has on board about 1,000 employees of which 130 are women. “We have a highly trained workforce in which we can state with pride that the first shift of factory operations is managed entirely by our women employees,” Ronak informs. Another factor in their favour is their focus on sustainability.

“Nandan Terry is committed to utilising earth’s resources optimally. We practice sustainable practices in our production facilities and create sustainable products as well. Increasing green cover in our factory and surrounding premises, reusing water and reducing electricity consumption by installing fibre glass transparent roof are among the best sustainable practices that we have implemented,” Ronak points out. “We are exploring alternative energy sources and non-fossil fuel-based energy sources like solar panels which will meet 20% of the energy requirement. We are using 15% recycled material in our packaging and have installed energy-efficient lights,” he adds.

Road Ahead

The management of Nandan Terry has firm future growth and vision plans for 2025 and beyond and this is evident from what Ronak has to say: “In the next two years we will focus on expansion of our capacities in a balanced manner. By 2025 we will be the fourth-largest towel exporter from India. To match the increasing demand from our customers, we will also add new product lines of bed linen, printed towels and bathrobes to our product basket, offering more value to our customer base.”
