Nahar’s sustained effort at upgrading technology

Nahar Spinning’s business in 2011-12 increased to Rs. 1,691.42 crores from Rs. 1,388.75 crores, showing an impressive growth of 17.89 per cent over the previous year. The company has fully implemented its expansion plans and thus increased its capacity to 4,32,256 spindles and 1,080 rotors.

The yarn segment achieved a revenue of Rs. 1,583.11 crores (Rs. 1,273.20 crores), showing an increase of 24.34 per cent over the previous year. In the garment segment Nahar improved its performance and achieved a revenue of Rs. 191.28 crores with a profit (before interest and tax) of Rs. 16.95 crores.

The company is in the process of replacement of existing machines with the latest and advanced ones. It has further installed Compact Spinning Ring Frames for better quality of yarns. Also “Loptex” and “C.V.T. – 3” machines have been installed in blow room for removal of foreign contaminations. The latest Uster Quantum – 2 series yarn clearer has been installed to improve further quality of yarns.

Autoconers machines are under gradual replacement with the latest advanced technology machines to improve the quality of the final yarn. The company has also installed metal detectors and high sensitive spark detectors.

In order to improve the working environment the company has installed the latest humidification plant from Luwa and the new generation contamination sorter Vision Shield from JOSSI, Switzerland.

Also installed are new cards “LC-333”, Combers “LK-54”, Lap former “LH-10” and 20 latest LR6 AX Ring Frames (equipped with Autodoffing) from LMW. With an additional six Autoconers of Savio Orion and five Autoconers of Schlafhorst, it has added a continuous waste collection system in the carding section (DK-740 Cards).

Nahar has increased the capacity of Multi Slub Yarn from three ring frames to six ring frames. It has equipped itself with contamination scanners for removal of coloured contaminations and also white polyethylene / polypropylene in all blow room lines.

The autoleveller in Rieter’s Draw frames are being replaced with the latest AC Drive from the present DC Drive autolevellers for better quality performance. In the existing speed frames the drafting system is being modernised by replacing the old with the latest 5025 Drafting from Texparts, Germany.

The company has completed renovation of the existing all LF1400A Speed Frames by installing the latest PK5025 drafting system from Texpart Germany for quality improvement. It has added a Reiter C60 card and Reiter R60 rotor spinning machine for higher production of open-end yarn.

With these efforts, the company will enjoy the benefit of improved quality, productivity and saving in manufacturing costs. It will project its image in the world market as a manufacturer of world class yarn and garner an excellent share of the world market.
