Nahar Spinning Mills Ltd. is implementing its expansion-cum-modernization of its 60,000 spindlage in order to be globally competitive. On completion of the expansion project, the company’s overall capacity will increase to five lakh spindles and 1,080 rotors. With its focus on quality and value-added products, the company’s net revenue reached Rs. 1,961.28 crores in 2012-13, an increase of 15.63 per cent over the previous year. Likewise, its exports moved up by 15.78 per cent to Rs. 1,299.76 crores, according to Mr. Jawahar Lal Oswal, Chairman, Nahar Spinning Mills.
Nahar Spinning, a leading integrated textile player, started its career as a worsted spinning and hosiery unit in Ludhiana and later became an export house by enabling itself to manufacture and export woollen, cotton hosiery, knitwears and woollen textiles. In 1992, as a measure of backward integration, the company diversified into spinning by putting up a spinning plant at Simrai village in Bhopal to produce quality value-added yarns for export. It also put up spinning units at Jalalpur, Jodhan, Ludhiana and Jitwal Kalan, all in Punjab.
Nahar has the capacity to produce both the coarsest and the finest of yarns with its state-of-art machineries – blow rooms from Trumac & Trutzchler equipped with bale pluckers, vision shield, chute feed system to feed latest Rieter cards, combers from Rieter, compact ring frames from RIETER K-44, conventional ring frames from Kirloskar Toyoda and Lakshmi, autoconers equipped with splicers and contamination control channels, TFOs from Volkman, SSM precision winders, heat setting machines from XORELLA and a large installation of LOPTEX machines.
The company has world class online and offline testing and monitoring equipments to maintain product consistency of the raw material as well as finished products. Its R&D Department is equipped with Uster-hvi 900, hvi-Spectrun, advanced fiber information system (Afis), ZWEIGLE fabric stimulation system, OASYS-Hairness tester, MESDAN-spliced scanner and a complete range of fiber, yarn and fabric testing equipments.
Nahar has implemented a spinning project of 28,800 spindles at Jodhan village with the latest state-of-the-art technology. To improve its working environment, it has installed a humidification plant from Luwa.
