Mohota Industries Ltd., formerly known as Rai Saheb Rekhchand Mohota Spg. & Wvg. Mills Ltd., has announced an investment of Rs. 650 crores across multiple projects, including expansion in spinning, weaving and garmenting units in phases.
Mohota Industries is engaged in textile manufacturing and infrastructure projects. With a history of more than 120 years in textile manufacturing, including grey and dyed multi-purpose yarns, breached, dyed, mercerized, high value ready-to-stitch fabrics, the company has an operating capacity of 10,000 tons of yarn and 20 million meters of fabric per annum. lt currently employs more than 1,600 people across the management and operational activities.
Mohota Industries has been realigning its strategic initiatives and expansion plans in line with the Government’s focus on the textile sector. It will be setting up a fully integrated textile mill as a greenfield project with the latest state-of-the-art machines for manufacturing high value yarn and fabrics, including denim fabrics.
Mohota is also planning to grow inorganically by acquiring companies with good technology and sizeable operating capacity. The company is looking to expand its presence in the retail market through acquisitions.
Mohota Industries is also planning to set up a textile park to attract units engaged in textiles and related businesses in the Vidharbha region, which is the second largest cotton producing region in the country. The company has entered into strategic partnership with other companies to enter the real estate and infrastructure business.
Mohota Industries has a land bank of over 200 acres valued at Rs. 1,000-Rs. 1,200 crores at current market prices.
