Surat-based Maverick Impex has significantly boosted its business by entering the segment of tying harness cords on jacquards. Traditionally, jacquard weaving mills sourced each consumable for tying harness cords from different suppliers. However, Maverick Impex streamlined this process by becoming a one-stop supplier for all harness needs, leading to a substantial increase in the company’s revenues.
Diversification into Rapier Loom Spare Parts
Maverick Impex started its business by importing Chinese spare parts, particularly for Rapier looms. At the time, weavers from Surat were importing second-hand Rapier machines from South Korea, presenting a lucrative opportunity for Maverick Impex to start a spare parts business.
“We supply almost all parts of a Rapier loom for all brands and models. We have nearly 5,000 SKUs of weaving spares. We supply within Surat and also to other parts of India wherever there are Rapier looms, like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, etc.,” said Mr Vikrant Vekaria, Director at Maverick Impex.
Commitment to Quality and Local Sourcing
In addition to importing spares from China, Maverick Impex sources spares made from gun metal manufactured in Rajkot and other spares from manufacturers in Ahmedabad. “We conduct lab testing of our spare parts to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. We supply spares for various brands and makes of weaving machines like Rifa, Titan, Alidhara Weavetech, Spectrum, Orange, Linado, Picanol, etc.,” Mr Vekaria added.
By supplying a wide range of spares and maintaining ready stocks, Maverick Impex ensures that its customers can source spare parts as and when needed.
Future Plans: Focusing on Airjet Loom Spare Parts
Looking ahead, Mr. Vekaria revealed that Maverick Impex plans to focus on Airjet loom spare parts. “The demand for Airjet loom spares will arise within the next two years since these machines were installed a few years back,” he explained.
