A global company known for its complete line of machines for the opening, preparation and spinning of natural, man-made, technical and blending fibres, Marzoli Machines Textile has reinforced its presence to be able to offer to Indian textile manufacturers its wide portfolio of sustainable products and technologies
Given that India is playing a key role in the present global textile scenario and continues to be an enabling ground for textile machinery manufacturers, one of the companies accruing benefits from this evolution is Italy-based Marzoli Machines Textile. The company has been designing and manufacturing textile machines from 1851. Today, it represents the textile division of Camozzi Group that combines the historical competence on fibre preparation and spinning process with the most advanced technologies. Marzoli is a unique partner for the manufacturing of a complete line of machines for the opening, preparation and spinning of natural, man-made, technical and blending fibres, and it offers innovative solutions for the nonwoven industry too.
The company assists its customers from a study of the spinning plan to its erection, from the start-up of the machines to their optimisation. “We provide support in the organisation of logistics, in the choice of accessories and components and through a wide network of technicians and technologists we provide state-of-the-art service to maintain the best performance of the customer plant,” the management states. Marzoli exhibited its products and technologies at India ITME, the most important event for the textile machinery sector in India. “At ITME we met many relevant customers, mainly from India and Bangladesh. Our interaction with industry professionals focused on their investment and expansion plans,” the management said.
Marzoli’s special focus at ITME was the display of its roving frame technology and combing machine combined with a wide range of digital solutions. Marzoli started its journey in the Indian market 10 years ago with a branch in Bengaluru. Now, the company is strengthening its India presence with an 115,000 sq. feet plant in Coimbatore. On December 10, the company shared its strategic roadmap for India up to 2025 with a delegation of about 80 customers and journalists, spelling out its ambitious goal to shape the development of the Indian textile industry. During the event, Neeraj Jain, Joint Managing Director and Business Head (Spinning), Vardhman Textiles Limited shared his viewpoint on the current global market scenario, highlighting various developments.
The ‘Marzoli’ brand strategic roadmap for India is based on six pillars:
1) Made in India
Thanks to the assembly of machinery and systems at its plant in Coimbatore, the company is increasing its production capacity for the whole product portfolio. By the end of 2023 it will achieve an increment of 40%. A local and dedicated supply chain has been developed to improve the quality of products and components, as well as to optimise the services, taking advantage of the proximity to its customers. Well-trained and skilled Indian engineers engaged in internal assembly, factory testing, erection and final setup are now creating a direct connection and flow of technical competences, bringing to India its 170+ years of ‘Marzoli’ textile culture.
2) Digitisation and Artificial Intelligence
The long-term vision and innovative digital journey that Marzoli and Camozzi Group designed in 2010 has made it possible to develop the first artificial intelligence (AI)-enabling platform dedicated to the textile industry. Its Digi4spin centre based in Marzoli India will support its customers through advanced remote services and training activities. Digi4spin will sustain the organisation for accelerating the digital transformation processes and culture through a specialised academy as well as promote the adoption of AI technologies in the industry.
3) Automation
Marzoli is backed by more than 170 years of textile technology and success in optimisation of the spinning process, resulting in a strong commitment towards the automation of production lines and processes. The company firmly believes that automation, directly connected with digitisation and AI, constitute the enabling platform necessary to standardise quality, improve performances and productivity. The capability to integrate an advanced automation system with the existing ecosystem has helped improve workplace conditions and workers’ engagement while reducing tiring and alienating tasks. This is a tailor-made approach which Marzoli is going to deliver and promote through Marzoli India.
4) Italian Design
As a brand that represents the Italian design excellence in the textile machinery sector, Marzoli creates unique tailor-made solutions designed as per customer needs which combine innovation and tradition, creativity and accuracy, reliability and out-of-the-box approach with distinctive traits of the Italian culture. Marzoli has been taking the lead in the development of new products and processes from a sustainable and digital point of view. At Marzoli, the management takes advantage of the experience and competences gained over the years to transform it into well-established know-how.
5) Customised Engineering Services
The company addresses the needs of its customers with tailored solutions. And it does so by intercepting and understanding the emerging trends, working in close contact with customers and research institutes, competence centres and technology experts to create value through a careful combination of engineering and networking. “Marzoli India will be an open house for our customers where different ecosystems can meet and share ideas to create disruptive concepts and solutions,” the management says.
6) Circular Economy
The company aims to make circular economy real in the textile industry. This is its long-term vision and mission. “The development of circular technologies and processes will balance economic and environmental sustainability. Marzoli India’s circularity programme is aimed at promoting a synergic supply chain able to realise full industrial projects for the regeneration of valuable fibre from post-industrial and post-consumer fabrics. We are going to establish this circular alliance by the end of 2025, involving strategic stakeholders,” the management informs.
Road Ahead
Empowering people as a key resource for the textile industry of the future is Marzoli’s goal. “We want to create an expanded ecosystem engaging customers, strategic suppliers, institutions, textile schools and research centres. We want to work with them in a proactive way. In the next three years we are going to create a programme of cooperation to promote the development of the next generation of engineers dedicated to advanced automation, robotics and AI for the textile industry. By the end of 2024 we will launch dedicated workshops aimed at implementing an open innovation approach in collaboration with the technical and maintenance teams of our customers. This 2025 ambitious roadmap is for Marzoli India the first necessary step to realise our long-term vision for this country,” the management said during the event.
