LC International has emerged as a leading name in the home textiles, hygienic textiles and fabric supply company. Based in Karur, the company is the creation of an enterprising team of first-generation entrepreneurs. Driven by a consistent commitment to quality and innovation, LC International has consistently expanded its footprint in domestic and key international markets.

The company is now poised to make a notable impact at the much-anticipated Bharat Tex 2025 trade show, scheduled to take place in New Delhi. We had the privilege of speaking with the founding Directors—Karthik, Sridhar, and Baskar—who shared valuable insights into the company’s journey and vision.

“We are eagerly looking forward to make our footprint at Bharat Tex 2025,” said Karthik. “The event provides a platform to showcase our diverse range of products, engage with a global audience, and explore the latest innovations in the textile industry. It’s also an invaluable opportunity for networking and collaboration.”

An inspiring journey

The story of LC International is nothing short of inspiring. Founded by three college friends with family roots in handloom weaving, the company’s journey reflects their entrepreneurial spirit and passion for textiles. After gaining practical experience through stints in leading textile companies and operating a consultancy firm, the trio decided to establish LC International.

Today, LC International is a shining example of vision, hard work, and Consistent. From its modest beginnings to becoming a trusted industry leader, the company continues to innovate and inspire, weaving success into every thread of its operations.

Reflecting on the company’s origins, Baskar shared, “Our journey as a trio began as ISO 9001:2015 lead auditors, where we specialized in implementing quality tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Total Quality Management (TQM) through our consulting firm. Leveraging this expertise in quality management, we successfully transitioned into supplying home textiles and hosiery products for export.

Today, we continue to apply these quality management tools effectively, ensuring that our team consistently delivers exceptional products.

Diverse operations and global reach

Recounting their growth, Sridhar said, “We started small in a 100sq.ft room and expanded gradually. Today, we operate in three key segments:

  1. Home Textiles – Accounting for about 30% of our turnover.
  2. Hygiene Products – Our core area of supply fulfilling 50% of the business
  3. Fabric Exports – covering 20% of our current business

Highlighting the company’s global footprint, Baskar stated, “Our key markets include:

  • Hygiene Products: Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
  • Home Textiles: Europe, Australia, and the U.S.
  • Fabrics: India, USA, Europe and African markets

Discussing the revenue split, he added, “Approximately 20–25% of our turnover comes from the domestic market, with the rest being export-oriented.”

Robust manufacturing infrastructure

LC International boasts a robust manufacturing infrastructure with three units covering more than 30,000 sq.ft, all based in Karur. Sharing details, Karthik said, “We started with 30 sewing machines. By 2024, we have scaled up to 150 machines. Our first unit is our corporate office and manages Operational workers. The second and third units focus on production catering to hosiery, hygiene, and home textile products. We currently employ around 170 people.”

He further explained, “We strategically outsource pre-processing tasks such as weaving and dyeing to centralized sectors. This approach helps us minimize overhead costs while reducing our environmental footprint, allowing us to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices..”

Building a Culture of Respect and Opportunity

Also prioritizes its workforce with fair wages, skill & knowledge development, and safe, hygienic workplaces with “Happy Employees”. Women empowerment, regular health check-ups, and a focus on work-life balance foster a supportive environment. By integrating sustainability and employee engagement, the company ensures its strong team thrives as it drives innovation in textiles

Competitive edge

On what sets LC International apart, Sridhar said, “Our expertise in textiles, combined with robust quality functional systems and a strong technical team, gives us a significant advantage:

  1. Customization and Consultation: We analyse fabrics to offer buyers cost-effective options without compromising quality.
  2. Technical Expertise: Our knowledge of quality systems enables us to optimize products and costs.
  3. Short Lead Times: While the industry standard for home textiles is 60-90 days, we can deliver in 45-55 days. For hygiene products, too, we have reduced lead times. For instance, we recently shipped three containers to Spain in just 30 days, against the typical 90 days.”

He added, “Unlike other companies that specialize in one product category, we produce a diverse range due our strong technical background and team. If one market segment faces a slowdown, others support us. This ensures steady production and workforce stability.”

Commitment to sustainability

LC International is strongly dedicated to sustainability. Baskar explained, “As we are not a vertically integrated company, outsourcing processes like dyeing, knitting, and weaving to centralised production hub helps us enhance sustainability and minimize our environmental footprint.”

He added, “Our machinery features energy-efficient direct-drive systems that consume less power. Additionally, we are planning to install solar panels soon to further strengthen our commitment to green initiatives.”

Sustainable products

LC International’s sustainability efforts extend to its product offerings across all segments. Discussing their innovations, Karthik said, “In home textiles, right now everybody focuses on recycled products. Two years ago, we acquired the Global Recycled Standards certification. This allows us to manufacture recycled cotton and polyester products in the home textile area. These products are economical than virgin cotton and help reduce the carbon footprint. They also add brand value for buyers by using recycled or regenerated materials.”

In hygiene products, LC International emphasizes reusable solutions to address environmental challenges. “For example,” Karthik continued,

  • Reusable Sanitary Napkins: “Women commonly use single-use sanitary napkins, which take hundreds of years to decompose and turn into microplastics. To address this, we manufacture reusable sanitary napkins with antimicrobial properties in collaboration with a Danish company brand. This product is a revolution for women. These napkins can be used for three years and prevent infections, rashes, and other common problems. This buyer has been working with us since 2019.”
  • Period Panties: Absorbent and reusable for over three years, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional products.
  • Cloth-Based Baby and Adult Diapers: Cost-effective, eco-friendly, and sustainable options for essential hygiene needs.

In the fabric export segment, sustainability depends on buyer preferences. “Some buyers request recycled cotton, organic cotton, or virgin materials. While not all fabric exports are focused entirely on sustainability, we ensure reduced our environmental impact through efficient production processes,” Sridhar explained.

Future Vision and Bharat Tex 2025

Looking ahead, LC International has ambitious plans. Baskar revealed, “We’re planning to construct two additional factories and a new 40,000 sq. ft. facility, focusing on textile and Agri-based products.”

Excited about Bharat Tex 2025, Sridhar shared, “We’ll be showcasing hygiene products and home textiles, including unique, in-house-designed sustainable products. Our goal is to increase home textile turnover from 20% to 50%.”

Baskar concluded, “Bharat Tex aligns with our vision of being among Karur’s top 50 companies by 2030 and to empower at least 500 families in the region. We aim to educate visitors about our innovative hygiene products.

“We look forward to welcoming our business collaborators at Hall F 14, Stall E 31, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi,” Karthik said. “Let’s collaborate as a team to create a win-win-win situation,” he signed off.
