Production Capacity

Towel: Presently, the company has installed 688 looms with a production capacity of 88,775 metric tonnes of towel per annum at optimum utilisation with a balanced product mix.

Bed Linen: It commenced production at its integrated Bed Linen facility capable of producing 43.2 million meters of bed linen per annum and almost 1.9 lakh yarn spindles to produce 14,400 tonnes per annum of high count compact yarn for captive consumption at Budni, Madhya Pradesh.

Yarn: Trident possesses an installed capacity of 5.55 lakh spindles and 5,500 rotors capable of manufacturing 115,200 tonnes per annum of cotton, compact and blended yarn per month. The company has ten manufacturing units with state-of-the-art technology sourced from globally-renowned suppliers. The product range services the needs of the knitting, weaving, denim, hosiery, shirting and suiting segments.

Expansion Plans

Trident’s bed linen facility envisages to produce43.2 million meters of bed linen at optimum utilisation with target revenues of Rs. 12,000 million. By FY17, this facility is estimated to operate at 40%-50% utilisation and by FY18 at 70%-80% utilisation with balancing preparatory, processing and cut-stitch-pack equipment. In FY17, its new yarn unit is expected to operate at 90% utilisation (against 40% utilisation of bed linen capacity), generating a surplus for merchant sale. In FY17, it expects to increase its terry towel volume off-take by 15-20% over FY16.

Customer base is spread across 100 countries spanning six continents around the world. Calvin Klein, H&M, JCPenney, Macy’s, Walmart to name a few are Trident’s major clients.

Financial Performance

Trident’s total revenues for FY16 stood at Rs. 36,835 million. About 78% of the company’s total revenues were accounted for by the textile segment, which contributed Rs. 29,043 million. Trident recorded its highest ever net profit of Rs. 2,284.5 million in FY16, increasing from Rs. 1,178.2 million in FY15. This represents an increase of 93.9% year-on-year. It derives 58% of its revenues from exports.
