MAG Solvics is another classic example of how a bunch of young professionals, after gaining industry experience, decided to start their own venture with fire in the belly and a passion to make a mark for themselves in the industry. Today, after more than 23 years, MAG has achieved much, thanks to the dedication and commitment of the promoters. MAG is a brand to reckon in the Indian textile industry for fiber, yarn and fabric testing instruments.
The company was established in 1991 with a vision to offer high quality and latest technology textile testing instruments, fulfilling the needs of the end to end textile industry’s testing solutions. Today the company has more than 7,500 installations across India and in global markets. MAG made the right choice of partnering with A.T.E. Enterprises in the Indian market for selling its equipment. A.T.E. has definitely played a very important role in MAG’s success story.
Mr. Murthy, Managing Director, MAG Solvics Private Ltd., said: “We at MAG Solvics have grown manifold in terms of our R&D activities, product portfolio, market size, service networks and confidence from our numerous customers across the country and the globe. Our intensive R&D efforts have helped us to introduce even critical quality control equipment that not only meets the high technological challenges but also meets customer’s need to improve quality of the finished products and set new standards. Quality control instruments play a very critical role in textile mills”.
MAG aims at becoming a leading global manufacturer of testing equipment for textiles across the value chain. The company has its manufacturing facility spread over five acres of land on the outskirts of Coimbatore. The campus houses the entire operations of the company, including the R&D facilities, manufacturing units and service centers.
The quality of textile goods has been evolving every year, every decade. For example, the overall quality of 30s cotton yarn available now is vastly different from that available in the 1980s. The same is true with a fabric of yesteryear and that available today. “With the advancement in textile manufacturing technology, the quality of finished products has improved considerably, and the quality control equipment manufacturers must be adequately equipped to measure the change and accommodate the textile manufacturers’ needs. This presupposes continued focus on the R&D efforts for companies like us”, said Mr. M. Gangadharan, Executive Director of MAG Solvics.
Integrated Quality Solutions
MAG believes that the quality of a product is more important than the product itself. With this in mind, MAG has implemented Integrated Quality Solutions (IQS), a comprehensive program that provides quality solutions to customers. As a part of IQS, MAG’s instruments are subjected to endurance, repeatability and reliability tests by its quality assurance wing before shipment.
MAG also supports the customers in designing customized testing laboratories and provides training to the laboratory personnel in order to inculcate international test standards and practices. “We provide calibration and test certificates for our products with national and international traceability”, says Mr. Dhandayuthapani, Vice President, MAG Solvics.
The entire product development process at MAG goes through six different levels of validation and approval, starting from the concept to commercially launching the machines in the market. This whole process has ensured that the final product launched is ready and fit for use by the customer, he adds.
The product basket as offered by the company includes everything that a composite textile mill might require to set up a modern QA laboratory. The state-of-the-art testing equipment are capable of delivering the quality testing and monitoring need of all parameters of a quality conscious textile mill for its raw material, intermediate products as well as finished products.
MAG Solvics offers one-stop solution to textile firms, be it high volume fiber testing of raw cotton which is the raw material, testing of unevenness of yarn or bursting strength testing of grey or finished fabric. The product portfolio includes specific equipment for each parameter. The long list of satisfied customers includes Alok Industries, Welspun, Vardhaman, Chirpal Group, Rajapalayam Mills, KPR Mills, etc. Some customers like the GC Group of Punjab have gone with MAG for the complete range of testing equipment.
MAG is a relatively younger company compared with its global and domestic competitors. But, within a short span of time, the company has developed a comprehensive range of testing equipment to cover the entire textile value chain. Having established itself as a quality supplier of equipment, it wants to move up the value chain so as to be recognized among the global peers.
MAG wants to particularly establish its brand in the global markets which will propel its future growth. The company is taking all the right steps in this direction, and it’s a question of time when MAG will propel itself in the global stage among the leading global brands for textile testing equipment.
