Mafatlal Industries Ltd., the flagship company of the diversified Arvind Mafatlal Group, has stated that it has increased its denim production capacity from 20 million metres to 25 million metres. The company has plans to further raise it to 30 million metres by 2015.
“We have increased our denim manufacturing production capacity from 20 million metres to 25 million metres and plan to increase it to 30 million metres by 2015 at our Navsari unit”, MIL Managing Director Rajiv Dayal said in a press release.
The overall Indian production of denim fabrics is approximately 800 million metres per annum. Out of this, exports stand at around 200 million metres. The Indian denim fabrics market is growing at a rate of about 8 to 12 per cent, compounded per annum.
Mafatlal Industries has an international and domestic market distribution network catering to global brands like Jack & Jones, Wrangler, Lee and C&A as well as domestic brands like Killer, Mufti, Spykar and Allen Solly.
