Luwa to present advanced filter, air cleaning systems

Luwa Air Engineering AG of Switzerland will be presenting its services and innovations at ITMA 2011. The main attractions are the newly developed MultiCell filter with a number of advanced features and the new business unit “System Koenig” for industrial heat recovery and exhaust air cleaning systems, specially designed to cope with the tough and demanding requirements of the textile industry.

The MultiCell filter which is based on Luwa’s proven filtration technology incorporates leading edge developments. Luwa’s R&D team carefully evaluated the latest requirements of textile producers and incorporated them in the new filter.

This novel technology with modular and space saving filter cells is ideal for machine exhaust air cleaning of blow room and carding machines as well as in air-conditioning plants for dust and fly filtration of the room return air.

The new filter opens up many opportunities to reduce the required floor space of air-conditioning and filtration plants in textile mills. Its advantages compared to a conventional rotary air filter are 40 per cent less floor space, option for increased filter area for power saving, modular design and dual use of filtration of room return air and machine exhaust air.

EasyHeat PLUS is the new addition to the product range of System Koenig. It provides a 2-step energy saving generation of hot process water. The first step is a standard water-to-water heat recovery unit of the System Koenig product range, and the second step is an industrial heat pump in order to raise the hot water temperature. EasyHeat PLUS provides hot water of up to 80°C without the need for additional energy input.

System Koenig comprises a complete range of engineered system solutions for industrial heat recovery and exhaust air cleaning. The main applications are in the dyeing and finishing processes to recuperate energy from effluent water, exhaust air and flue gas with a very attractive return of investment, and to eliminate air pollution (visible smoke and bad smell) from the exhaust air. These products are well designed and tailor-made to be perfectly integrated into customer’s process requirements.

In a live demonstration Luwa is operating a Uniluwa system with Texfog for process air-conditioning. The Uniluwa is supplying precisely controlled clean air to the new airjet spinning machine of Rieter on its adjacent booth. Control and monitoring of all parameters is accomplished with the superior Luwa Digi5 Control System.
