Luwa has been witnessing steady growth across all major markets. The company is investing in key markets to become more competitive which shows Luwa’s commitment to the market and its customers. Mr. Gottfried Abrell, CEO, Luwa Air Engineering, recently shared some insights about the company’s expansion plans.

Luwa had recently participated in three major textile shows – The ITM in Turkey, Shanghaitex and TechTextil in Frankfurt. How was the response in all these events?

Response for Luwa was excellent at all the three shows. In TechTextil we were positively surprised on great response to our product range, and we were able to gather quite good number of project information and client leads. Luwa Air Engineering primarily being the only global company in this field, to provide detailed information to all our visitors and valued customer in all the three major textile shows this year.

What were the key highlights of Luwa’s participation in all the three events?

At all the three events, our main focus was on our customers. They highly appreciated to meet Luwa executives for discussions on their present Luwa installations and for their new planned projects. We have received very good response for our newly developed axial flow fan which we displayed in Istanbul and Shanghai. The fan is already in operation in a few installations. Its performance is quite superior to that of presently available axial flow fans in market.

Luwa has recently set up its own fully-owned company in Turkey. Can you share some details on your new Turkish operations?

Luwa has started its own company in Turkey as we believe in serving customers right at their doorstep. The way Luwa has established and grown its operations in India to fulfill the customer requirements shows clearly the success of this strategy.

In Turkey we have started a workshop and office and are going to set up an organization similar to the one in India with localized Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing and Service. During the first half year of operations of the new company, we are already able to book nearly eight contracts there.

How is Luwa’s presence in technical textiles?

Manufacturing of technical textiles is giving companies a sort of differentiation in the market and provides the possibility to adding value to their product line which in turn results in getting better economics.
Luwa has done a lot of different projects worldwide and has brought its experience to design the right system for each process.

How is business for Luwa globally in the first half of 2013?

Other than Europe and some countries in Asia like Bangladesh, which has slowed down in the recent past, we are on the right track to meet our budget targets for this year. Today we are seeing good growth in Pakistan, Turkey and the surrounding countries, as well as in the Americas.

How is business at Luwa India? Can you provide an update on the new manufacturing facility which you are setting up in India?

In India we are already exceeding our budget targets and have booked major orders in cotton spinning, synthetic fibers and in nonwoven. Construction work for our new factory has already started at a new location in Bangalore. We are going to build there a full-fledged sales and design office and modern factory with a view to building future growth in India. Our promoters see great growth opportunities in India and want Luwa to strengthen its presence and bring its global know-how to service the textile industry here.
