The traveller, the tiny element used in a ring spinning system, has its significant value in the entire process chain. The role of ring travellers is known since inception of yarn spinning by ring frames. In the process of commercialization and competition, many a time the traveller’s individual contribution was overlooked earlier. However, its importance for overall productivity and yarn quality improvement was fully realised in recent times and due importance attached to its role in different applications.
In the world of ring travellers, the Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Ring Travellers (LRT) is an established brand with its products being used in over 5,000 mills across 35 countries. LRT offers its customers distinct advantages by supplying quality products at competitive prices. Coupled with its worldwide sales and service network, the customer expects nothing but the best in terms of quick deliveries and efficient after-sales service.
In recent times, LRT has invested heavily on R&D to improve the life and quality of travellers. Multiple tests are carried out for surface coating, production process improvement, etc., to turn out products of high standard.
The recently launched Ruby finish is the result of this sustained endeavour. This special coating helps in lesser wear-outs and improved consistency for better life. New profiles like U1 HM UDR, also launched recently, are a runaway success at the global level, catering to the medium/coarse counts for synthetics and cotton applications.
LRT has manufacturing facilities at Hosur, Coimbatore and Annamalai, with an aggregate production capacity of 40,000 boxes per month, with adequate scope for expansion to meet growing demand.
All the company plants are equipped with best-in-class manufacturing equipments to deliver defect-free, consistent quality products, reflecting the company’s commitment to fully meet the end-users’ requirements.
“New product launches made recently like Ruby and the new profile U1 HM UDR will be significant growth drivers for LRT in the coming months. Further, we are also contemplating improved processes in all finishes to further increase the life of our travellers to cater to the ever-growing demand from the industry,” stressed Mr. Balaji, Global Head of Marketing at LRT, while interacting with The Textile Magazine.
LRT is equipped to supply the largest range of travellers to cater to the needs of all counts, materials and spindle spindles globally. In fact, it is perhaps the only company with the skill-sets to supply certain very fine travellers like 32/O and 34/O for superfine counts.
“Going forward,” he said, “LRT is well poised to further consolidate its global leadership position in terms of quality and market share.”
Company presence in China
Talking about LRT’s presence in China, Mr. Balaji observed: “We are present here for more than a decade. China is a very important market for LRT. China is LRT’s second biggest market, next to India, promising huge growth potential for ring traveller business.”
“Response at this year’s ShanghaiTex show for LRT was moderate. This could be due to two reasons: one the forthcoming of ITMA Milan and the other Chinese market slowdown. But we hope things will be better in China after ITMA”, added Mr. Balaji.
