Lakshmi Life Sciences (LLS) is a leading name in the field of textile automation. LLS – Automation stall was a beehive of activity at the recently held Texfair 2024 with visitors flocking to take a closer look at its latest launch- the ‘Q-PACK’- Cone Transport & Packing System.

Interviewing Mr. Eswaramurthy N., Business Unit Head of LLS – Automation, at Texfair 2024 must have been insightful! He shared valuable information about LLS’s history, product portfolio, competitive advantages, Texfair 2024 participation and future plans.

LLS, formerly known as Quattro Infotech, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1999. Initially established as Quattro Infotech, the company evolved in 2003 to become Quattro Engineering India Limited. In 2018, we merged with Lakshmi Life Sciences (LLS), marking a significant milestone in our journey. Since then, LLS-Automation has been at the forefront of innovation in textile automation, continuously advancing our technologies and expanding our presence in the industry.

we have a team of over 200 engineers who are the backbone of our operations. We take great pride in our in-house facilities, which include manufacturing units equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure. This setup allows us to maintain high standards of quality and innovation in our products and services.

We offer a comprehensive range of textile automation products to optimize manpower and consistent productivity. Our product lineup includes Roving Transport System (RTS), Lap Transport System (LTS), and ‘QDOFF’ Auto Doffer retrofit designed exclusively for LMW machines. Recently, we’re proud to introduce our latest innovation, the ‘Q-PACK’ Cone Transport & Packing System.

Strong R&D focus

A significant amount of research and development underpins the design of our product line. We meticulously study and analyze market needs before developing our Product. Currently, acquiring manpower has become a growing challenge also the market is volatile. Automation is therefore the only solution to run a mill smoothly, without any downtime. RTS and LTS product will fulfill the need of the market” he stated.

Going into details regarding the new launch i.e., Q Pack at Texfair 2024 he stated,” We are showcasing the demo of first few stations like Cone Lifting Unit and Cone Transport System at Texfair 2024. These demonstrations are garnering significant interest, and we’re pleased with the number of inquiries we’ve received. Our plan is to move towards a commercial launch starting from 2025.

At the conclusion of the spinning process, significant manpower is traditionally required for packing, inspection, and weighing tasks. For instance, a mill operating 30,000 spindles producing 30s Ne yarn typically employs around 30 personnel for these operations. With our Q Pack solution, our goal is to drastically reduce this workforce to just 3 individuals. By automating and optimizing these processes, we aim to enhance efficiency, minimize labor costs, improves packaging quality, traceability and eliminates handling rejection.

Elaborating on the key reasons that give the company’s automation solutions the edge over the competition, Mr. Eswaramurthy pointed out, “The first reason is product reliability. Secondly, we are constantly studying industry trends and upgrading our products.

Replying to a question on the company’s after sales support services, he replied, “UMPESL (Formerly known as VOLTAS) and Super Sales, who are the selling agents for LMW also take care of our sales and services. Apart from them we also have our own marketing, sales & service team.

According to Mr. Eswaramurthy, the company is gradually increasing its global footprint. “We are already supplying our products to markets such as Turkey, Bangladesh and Vietnam. With rising demand for our products, we are sure that we will be expanding our global footprint in the near future,” he said.

Speaking about the importance of Texfair, he mentioned, “One reason of course is the fact that it is taking place in Coimbatore, where we are located. It offers the ideal platform to showcase our products to people from all over India, particularly the southern part. We have been participating in the fair regularly and it has always resulted in positive interaction with our existing customers and various a cross section of people from the textile industry.

To wrap things up, let me share some exciting news about our company’s future plans. We’re currently working on adding some new products to our lineup, but we can’t spill the details just yet. Keep an eye out for updates in the first half of next year!
