Lectra, the world leader in integrated technology solutions dedicated to industries using soft materials like textiles, leather, industrial fabrics and composite materials, has entered into a privilege partnership with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) which has its 13 centres spread all over the country.
The relationship between Lectra and NIFT started over 15 years ago, ever since NIFT installed India’s first CAD solutions in Delhi to equip the future professionals and expose industry to the world’s best practices of the fashion industry.
The relationship has been reinforced every now and then, and today NIFT has extended Lectra solutions teaching to its 13 centers (New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Raebareli, Bhopal, Kannur, Patna, Shillong and Kangra) and is equipped with 1,300 licences of Modaris & Diamino, Lectra’s advanced pattern and marker making solutions.
“We are very proud to sign the first privilege partnership in India with NIFT, one of the best fashion schools of the country which has set high academic standards,” says Prashanth L.J., Managing Director, Lectra India. “Our partnership demonstrates our common desire to support the Indian fashion industry by providing high quality education programs to students.”
The privilege partnership is based on strong, long-term, mutual agreement, so both parties benefit from the co-operation. It allows the schools free access to the high-end technology developed by Lectra. They will also benefit from its approach focused on the development of common projects, such as conferences, internships, support for students and shared information related to best industrial practices.
Set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Textiles, NIFT has emerged a premier institute of design, management and technology, developing professionals for taking up leadership positions in fashion business in the emerging global scenario.
