Lambodhara expansion, modernisation programme in progress

Lambodhara Textiles Ltd. has commenced commercial production under the expansion-cum-modernization programme at its existing plant by adding 4,320 spindles and replacing 3,024 spindles, thus increasing the total spindleage to 37,544. The company has already achieved the targeted production under the said project. Having received the Export House Certificate from the Government, the company has entered the European market for export and hopes to establish itself well there.

Lambodhara has achieved profit before tax of Rs. 519.88 lakhs from operations on a turnover of Rs. 9,781.37 lakhs for the year ended March 31, 2013. The company has completed implementation of the expansion-cum-modernisation project at a cost of Rs. 1,184.65 lakhs and has raised the capacity by 4,320 spindles. This has resulted in an increase in finance cost from Rs. 478.98 lakhs to Rs. 633.34 lakhs. With the expansion in place, the company is targeting a turnover of Rs. 100 crores and improve the bottomline.

Lambodhara has proposed to implement the modernization project at a project cost of Rs. 3.62 crores to add back process machineries for improved productivity, slub generators and spindle monitoring system for better value addition during 2013-14. The company is mainly focusing on customized fancy yarn in the niche segment and has extended its entry into speciality fibre fancy yarn which should help it in the years to come.

Lambodhara has two wind mills of 2.75 MW capacity. The electricity generated from the said WEG is used for captive consumption and takes care of 50 per cent of the power requirement at the present level of operation.

Lambodhara Textiles was founded in 1994 with a capacity of 3,024 spindles. Over a period of 18 years the company has grown in size and currently has a capacity of 37,544 spindles, with 33,224 spindles producing fancy yarns. The mill is fully modernized with state-of-art technology and infrastructure. The company produces yarns in a count range of 10s to 60s, specializing in manufacturing slub yarns, multi-count and multi twist yarns, siro yarns and neppy yarns. It produces yarns using polyester, polyester variants, viscose, Modal, Excel and Flax as raw materials.

Lambodhara Textiles is today a dominant player in the fancy yarn market utilizing the latest technology, superior quality raw materials and stringent quality control. The company is weel established in the domestic market and commands premiums for its products. It commenced exports in 2011 and the export volume has grown sizably since then.
