Representing leading manufacturers such as Neelkanth Textile Industries, Airmaaster Tecnolozies, Inno-Spin and Geron in South India, Lakshmi Impex is all set to capitalise on the expanding opportunities for growth
Coimbatore-based Lakshmi Impex, a marketing company that represents Neelkanth Textile Industries, Airmaaster Tecnolozies, Inno-Spin and Geron in South India, as well as some key global markets, is all set for participation in the forthcoming Texfair 2022 trade fair. The company has outperformed in recent times and elaborating about its results for FY 2021-22, K S Palanikumar, CEO of Lakshmi Impex, states, “The year was certainly very good. With respect to Neelkanth Textile Industries, the growth has been to the tune of 300% compared to the previous financial year. In the case of Airmaaster Tecnolozies, the growth has been 150% in order booking.”
“Similarly, in the case of Inno-Spin we have witnessed growth of 100% and made more footprints in South India. With respect to Geron, we have just tied up but positive growth trends are already visible,” he adds. Speaking about new launches by the companies that Lakshmi Impex represents as of now, Palanikumar states, “As far as Neelkanth Textile Industries is concerned, we have launched bigger cans i.e. 1,200 mm cans recently. For Airmaaster Tecnolozies we have started offering a new range of more energy-efficient centrifugal fans. At Inno-Spin, there have been some exciting developments for their fully automatic roving transporting system.”
Further, Palanikumar feels that policy initiatives such as the PLI and mega textile park schemes will definitely benefit companies like Lakshmi Impex. “We are into the allied machinery business. Due to government policy initiatives there is a significant shift towards processing of synthetics. As such, there will be plenty of opportunities available for us. For example, there will be a requirement for waste collection systems. Similarly, if cans need to be replaced, it would mean more business for us.” Explaining the key reasons that make the company stand out from the rest, he notes, “One of the first reasons is that we provide prompt service with value-addition to the customers.”
“I am a textile engineer and have rich experience of selling capital machinery. We have a strong team headed by C Thangavelu who has been associated with this industry for more than four decades. He is a well-known technologist in the spinning industry and is a reputed process and machinery specialist who has handled hundreds of projects across India. All this adds value for the customers,” he adds. The company is gradually making its foray into key global markets. Elaborating, Palanikumar informs, “We started off with the marketing of our products only in South India. Gradually, with Airmaaster Tecnolozies and Neelkanth Textile Industries we had the opportunity to explore the Indonesian market where we supplied WCS and cans for many projects.”
“Now we are handling several enquiries in Africa and Bangladesh and to some extent in Nepal too. Things are looking up and we would definitely like to expand our overseas footprint,” he adds. Sharing his views on the future of the Indian textile industry, Palanikumar mentions that because of the global corrections happening after the pandemic, opportunities for India are considerably brighter. “Right now perhaps the market is a bit disturbed due to the high raw material price, else there is huge demand. Things would get automatically corrected in a couple of months’ time and everything should be back on the growth track.”
Getting into details regarding the products that Lakshmi Impex will be displaying at Texfair 2022, Palanikumar states, “For Neelkanth Textile Industry we will be displaying their cans of different sizes.
