Strengthening Global Presence: Expanding Markets and Long-Standing Relationships

Kusters Calico Machinery Pvt. Ltd., a leading name in textile machinery, has been at the forefront of innovation, sustainability, and global expansion. In a recent interview with The Textile Magazine, Mr. Sushil Verma, Managing Director of Kusters Calico, shared insights into the company’s strategic growth, advancements in manufacturing, and commitment to sustainability. This article delves into the key highlights from the interview, showcasing how Kusters Calico is setting new standards in the industry while expanding its footprint across the globe.

Kusters Calico has significantly expanded its production capabilities. We have increased our shop floor area from 70,000 to 170,000 sq ft and added new CNC machines to ensure all critical components are manufactured in-house, Mr. Verma explained.

This move allows Kusters Calico to maintain strict quality control and timely delivery. Mr. Verma invites customers to visit their factory to see this infrastructure firsthand. No other textile manufacturer has the kind of infrastructure we have today, he proudly stated.

Entering New Markets

Kusters Calico has diversified its offerings with the introduction of decor printing lines. “Our group company acquired a company in Germany, and we are now producing decor printing lines in India,” Mr. Verma said. These lines are already receiving orders from Turkey and other markets.

The company is also expanding its textile wet processing division. Our strong R&D team is working on developing new products including mercerizers and bleaching machines for knits, the design will be completed by the end of this year, Mr. Verma added.

India as a Global Manufacturing Hub

“India has a bright future as a global manufacturing hub,” Mr. Verma stated. Kusters Calico’s facility in India spans over 35 acres and is poised to produce German-quality machines for the global market. “Our parent company Jagenberg AG has confidence in our abilities to produce world-class products competitively in India.”

Mr. Verma believes this is just the beginning of manufacturing global products in India. “We are discussing the production of other products for our group companies, which will likely start in coming years”.

Important of Turkey & Neighboring Markets

“Turkey has always been a very important market for Kusters Calico,” said Mr. Sushil Verma. “Since the beginning, we have been selling here, and if you go to any process house, you will find at least one or two Kusters lines.” This long-standing relationship is supported by a strong dealer, Feryat Kireççi NKY Tekstil Makine Mümessillik, which underscores the importance of this market to Kusters Calico.

Additionally, Kusters Calico has been expanding into other markets. “We have supplied machines to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Iran, which are new markets for us. Russia is also a very bright market, with several lines supplied in the last two years and many promising inquiries,” Mr. Verma said.

Commitment to Sustainability

“Sustainability is a key focus for us,” Mr. Verma emphasized. Kusters Calico has a dedicated sustainability department that monitors power consumption, CO2 produced, and overall environmental impact. “We are developing strategies to reduce our carbon footprint in both manufacturing and the products we offer.”

Mr. Verma highlighted the importance of conserving resources like water and electricity. “Our machines are designed to save water and electricity, which reduces machine operations costs and helps conserve resources.”

Adapting to Market Dynamics

“The market is very dynamic today,” Mr. Verma observed. To insulate from market fluctuations, Kusters Calico has diversified its product lines. “We have entered the markets of coating and lamination, slitting machines, and now decor printing. Next, we plan to enter knit machines for processing and also into machines for technical textiles.”

This diversification strategy ensures that Kusters Calico remains strong and resilient, regardless of market conditions. “By balancing our business across different product lines, we can continue to grow and provide better products to our customers,” Mr. Verma concluded.

Kusters Calico’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and market adaptability positions it as a leader in the textile machinery and coating & lamination industry, poised for continued growth and success in the global market.
