Karl Mayer unveiled its Multibar Lace series at Tee Pee Textiles, part of the Zenith Silk Mills, in Surat on May 26. The function was attended by the top-level management of Karl Mayer from Germany and its Indian agent A.T.E. Over 100 visitors from different parts of the State were present to witness this new technology.

It was a proud moment for the Indian textile industry when Karl Mayer presented its first-ever wide-width multibar raschel machine to a sari manufacturer in Surat. “This shows our commitment to this great nation. We are here to serve,” said Mr. Arno Gartner, CEO of Karl Mayer, at the launch function which was attended, among others, by Mr. Oliver Mathews, Sales Director of the Warp Knitting Business Unit, Mr. Anuj Bhagwati of A.T.E., and Mr. Jariwala of Zenith Silk Mills.

“We have a very good relationship with Zenith. A.T.E. is associated with Zenith for more than 40 years and is one of the oldest customers of Karl Mayer machines in India. This was a wonderful gesture by Karl Mayer and Zenith”, said Mr. Anuj Bhagwati, in his brief address.

Karl Mayer has been associated with A.T.E. for more than six decades. This terrific combination has been playing an important role in the modernization of various pockets within the textile vertical for many years now. The Karl Mayer brand has its important role in India when it comes to warp-knitting.

KarlMayer-pic-3As part of its strategy of manufacturing close to its markets, Karl Mayer has been running its own service subsidiary in Mumbai since 2009. The service operations are being expanded on a regular basis.

Mr. Gärtner observed that India has been an important sales region for the warp preparation machines produced at Obertshausen for some time. Since 2010, demand for new warp knitting machines manufactured by Karl Mayer has been growing considerably.

This development, he said, has made India an important growth market for the textile machinery manufacturing company. This positive development prompted it to consider setting up its own production centre in India. Hence the recent establishment of its manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

The machines in the ML Series have an excellent cost-to-benefit ratio. With a width of 134”, they can reach speeds of up to 900 min, and the machines having a width of 210” are extremely productive, especially in the case of fabrics – four 50”-wide fabric panels can be produced simultaneously. The working width of 210” is therefore ideal for producing this traditional Indian dress and augurs well for emerging new trends in fashion and lingerie.

The ML series of raschel machines is setting the standard in the fashion sector, as well as in production of traditional garments. With their gauge of E 24, these machines are catering for the continuing trend for light, delicate plain fabrics and lace. In a working width of 210”, these best-selling machines from Karl Mayer are a must for producing saris.

In addition to being fast, the multibar raschel machines are also known for their user-friendliness, accuracy and flexibility. The pattern can be changed with very little time and effort. This enables customers to produce even small batches efficiently, and react quickly to changing market trends.

Further, the fabrics produced on the Multibar Lace machines are delicate and more or less open, and feature continuous net grounds. The pattern elements, which are usually floral and decorative, are worked into the ground in sweeping lines to create striking effects.
