For the last 18 months, a strong growth has become noticeable within the warp knitting industry in India – an upward trend being fuelled especially by Karl Mayer. The worldwide leading manufacturer of warp knitting machines disposes of a market share of about 80 per cent and is continuously expanding its position.

The enterprise responds to the growing importance of the country by offering a projected development of its supply of services, training programmes and new machine constructions as well as an improvement in keeping the necessary spare parts available.

The new premises Karl Mayer opened in Surat facilitate an even closer contact to the customers. The building was recently taken on by Karl Mayer and includes today its own academy as well as a new service office of A.T.E., its sales representation in India, completing the Karl Mayer service branch in India founded already in 2009 in Mumbai. The support offered by the team of technicians and service engineers in Surat has become faster and has developed more competence for the machines of all business sectors. If required, the specialists are supported by the German headquarters.

Apart from the increased service activities, the renowned machine builder shows by the strong introduction of the HKS 3-M of the 3rd generation to the market that they are completely aware of the needs of the Indian textile manufacturers. These are three measures for strengthening the Indian warp knitting industry officially launched on June 30. On that day Karl Mayer invited its customers into the Surat stronghold of textiles in order to inaugurate the training and service centre and to experience the innovative HKS 3-M in action.

Nearly 200 guests attended the celebratory get-together. They were welcomed by Fritz P. Mayer, Manager of the Karl Mayer Group, and by Anuj Bhagwati, Manager of A.T.E. They emphasized the importance of the long and trustful collaboration of their enterprises. Karl Mayer and A.T.E. have been business partners for 55 years.

After welcoming the guests, the secret about the new HKS 3-M was disclosed by raising the curtain from a model with a working width of 230”, E 28.

Afterwards, the invitees were given an insight into the premises and offers of the new service office and of the Karl Mayer Academy – a visit which received a lot of interest. The customers were very soon aware of the value of the services available for their daily business and will make sure that the technical specialists in Surat will be fully occupied within a short time.

Karl Mayer will participate in India ITME in a big way by presenting its latest machines and processes.
