KTTM announced at India ITME 2012 that it has received the first project order for 1,824 spindles from Kallam Brothers Cottons (Pvt.) Ltd., part of the Kallam Group in Guntur.
At a function held at the India ITME, KTTM and Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) felicitated top officials from the Kallam Group.
KTTM, established on August 14, 1995, with a plant at Jigani, Bangalore, is maintaining steady growth since inception. It is the first company of the Toyota Group to be set up in Bangalore to produce world class spinning machineries.
Headquartered in Guntur, Kallam Spinning Mills was founded in 1994 for producing quality yarn. While Kallam is a relatively young, its management team has many years of experience in yarn manufacturing. Starting with just one open-end spinning facility at Guntur, the company has grown into one of the largest producers of 100 per cent cotton and cotton-blend yarns in the world. The group has over 100,000 spindles, including 16 KTTM ring frames, in its existing facility.
Mr. G.V. Krishna Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Kallam Group, said: “We wanted to utilise space in our factory to the most optimum level and we were looking for a solution. When you go for longest ring frame it saves space and cost but there is also some risk involved. One of the main reasons for chosing KTTM is that we have full faith that they can handle long ring frames”.
In 1997, KTTM delivered its first machine to the Vardhman Group and benchmarked the technology for new spinning developments in India. Subsequently, the one millionth spindle was delivered to the Vardhman Group in 2005 and the two millionth ring spinning spindle to the Loyal Group in 2010.
KTTM has supplied machines to all major mills across India. However, it had its limited presence in Andhra Pradesh. The initial breakthrough made with the Kallam Group helped the company have a strong presence in this market. “This is the first order in India for long ring frame. We thank the Kallam Group for all the support”, says Mr. Ashok Juneja, KTTM Vice President.
KTTM machines are supplied with high end technical specifications to achieve optimum productivity and yarn quality. Its clientele includes many Indian textile industry majors. This is proof of the growing popularity of KTTM ring spinning machines in India.
Since launch of its high speed ring frame RXI 240 at ITME 1996 in Mumbai, KTTM has showcased its new technology at every ITME exhibition. This is in line with its philosophy of developing new technologies based on customer feedback.
Innovative ideas, purely customer-oriented, enabled KTTM to develop superlong ring frame having 1,824 spindles with automatic doffing facility and compact attachment. After exhaustive evaluation, it was formally launched at ITME 2012.
In addition to cotton and yarn manufacturing, the Kallam Group is closely associated with agro-based products, power generation, real estate, etc., under the chairmanship of Mr. Kallam Haranadha Reddy.
