Jeanologia backs Indian textile sector in redefining production prospects

Making big contribution to digital revolution

Jeanologia, the Spanish company leader in the development of sustainable and efficient technology, backs the textile industry in India in redefining the future of production and contributing to the consolidation of its digital revolution.

The company drives and leads the change in India, the key being the combination of disruptive technologies capable of establishing a new operating model that brings the jean industry into the digital era, while reducing the environmental impact and optimizing time to market.

Mr. Manuj Kanchan, Asia Area Manager at Jeanologia, emphasises that “as a technology partner, we support the main brands and laundries in the country on their way to a digital revolution”. It’s worth highlighting that 80% of production using sustainable technology for garment finishing in India is done using the Jeanologia technology, a percentage the increases every year.

Mr. Kanchan stresses Jeanologia’s backing of the Indian textile industry and reminds us that “we have already been in this market for 14 years, contributing with our technology to a radical transformation of the country’s industry in moving towards sustainability, efficiency and competitiveness, without losing sight of the product or compromising on design.

That’s why, he reaffirms, “India is technologically prepared to offer a premium commercial product at a competitive price while respecting the environment and workers’ health.”

An innovative, sustainable collection

At Denimsandjeans held on August 2, Jeanologia presented its collection Made in India, based on the new totally digital production model, in which manual and environmentally dangerous processes are eliminated and replaced by eco-eficient processes that are respectful of workers’ heatlh.

The collection Made in India has been developed 100% digitally using a combination of Jeanologia technologies. Mr. Kanchan explains: “The traditional model was being used in the country: production with low added-value and based on manual processes. The digital model, which we have been introducing, achieves a high value-added product that is completely sustainable and has a shorter production time.

“The combination of our technologies, laser, ozone and eflow, combined with the correct selection of fabric using our Light Sensitive Fabric tool, allows for a saving of 80% in water and 50% in chemical usage, shortening production time by 30%”, indicates the Asia Area Manager at Jeanologia.

“Furthermore”, he adds “the environmental impact of the collection has been analyzed with the EIM (Environmental Impact Measurement), the Jeanologia software that measures water, energy and chemical consumption during the production process. All of the garments from the collection have an EIM score of low environmental impact, contributing to a minimal impact on its surroundings.

Jeanologia has been in India since 2004 promoting a change in the jean industry with direct investment in the country. Currently, more than 80% of the market for sustainable technology for garment finishing in India carries the stamp of the Spanish company.

The company has important projects with exporters and national producers such as Shahi, Arvind, Everblue (Raymonds), KG denim, FFI, Shell Apparels, Orient Craft and Anish India, among others.
