Janatics India has recently added air filter with service indicator in its product range. In pneumatics, operating pressure is one of the major criteria for end performance. The reduced output pressure due to obstruction in the air flow could affect the end performance.
An air filter removes the dust and water particles from the compressed air. The filter element has to be changed or replaced periodically to ensure the air flow and the pressure maintained in the system to achieve the end function.
An air filter with service indicator indicates the condition of the filter element. If the filter element is clear, then the air flow and the pressure is maintained at the desired level. In case the filter element is chocked, the air flow and the pressure would be restricted, resulting in low end performance.
Green color indicates the filter element is clean, the air flow is smooth and the pressure drop is well within the limit. Yellow color indicates the filter is chocked, the air flow is restricted and the pressure drop is beyond the limit. Red color indicates the filter is dirty and chocked. The air flow is fully restricted and the pressure drop is above 1 bar. At this stage, the end function would get affected.
These color indications alert the user about the condition of the filter and the need for necessary action.
