INVISTA, one of the world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, has teamed up with the Vardhman Group, one of India’s largest core spinners, to develop spun yarns with LYCRA T166L Fiber that has been specially designed for robust processing performance in the production of stretch woven fabrics. The core spun yarns manufactured by Vardhman with INVISTA’s technological know-how and LYCRA T166L Fiber are optimized for woven fabrics.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manjul Jain, Yarn Marketing Head, Vardhman Ltd., said: “LYCRA T166L Fiber can be combined with natural or synthetic fibers and provides excellent performance for core spinning. We at Vardhman have already done successful trial of the product and the core spun yarns with LYCRA fiber type 166L will be available from July 2013 onwards.”
He added: “For niche applications, we are doing sampling in core spun yarn with 105 D LYCRA fiber, blend with COOLMAX fiber for COOLMAX fabric, blend with THERMOLITE fiber for THERMOLITE fabric and are also doing sampling in dualcore spinning machine to produce yarn for LYCRA(R) dualFX(R) fabric”.
LYCRA T166L can be used with a broad range of woven applications, including ready to wear, active sportswear and denim. The fiber can also be subjected to a variety of finishes and styles for the garments.
