Picanol
Picanol had a significant presence at the 2018 edition of IndoIntertex with two weaving machines on display and the full sales and service team of PT. Picanol Indonesia available to assist visitors and customers visiting at the large booth.
The two machines on demonstration were weaving fabrics typically produced in Indonesia, with the yarns used sourced locally and warp preparation from Indonesian factories!
* The OptiMax-i rapier machine of 220cm width equipped with dobby and Free Flight insertion system was weaving a high twist filament fabric used for uniforms/formal wear
* The OMNIplus Summum airjet machine of 280cm width was weaving a typical shuttle loom fabric with closed selvedges using Air Tuckers on left, right and centre. Interesting was the fact that with a speed of 850rpm, the machine was shown to be running with very low input pressure and airflow!
Said Mr. Tanim Chowdhury, General Manager of PT. Picanol Indonesia: “Customers were very impressed with the machines on display in terms of the very high industrial running speeds that were shown to be possible using local yarn and preparation and the technology available on the Picanol machines to lower consumption of energy and make weaving more easy. We were pleased with the quality and quantity of visitors with many owners/directors spending time at our booth to discuss upcoming projects. A few deals were also concluded at the exhibition and we now have many enquiries to follow up on!”
With an office based in Bandung, a pool of local technicians and customer service staff, Picanol is fully geared to provide best-in-class services and sales support for the Indonesian textile industry.

Sagotharen
Indonesia is a growing market and lot of machinery, accessories and spares are exported to Indonesia from India. The spindle tape market is quite good and the majority of the spindle tapes are exported from Coimbatore.
Already, ‘Sagotharen’ new age synthetic sandwich spindle tapes were installed in many units, and they are approved by all the end-users. Naren Textile Engineers
In general, the expo was great for Naren, as we are participating in this expo after a gap of six years. During the six-year isolation we had grown leaps and bounds in this market, and we have achieved a great success during 2017-2018. Thanks to our agents, Mr. Bala and Mr. Kanagaraj who were really doing well for us. Our stall attracted many of the leading mills and big groups in Indonesia, and almost all the top decision makers and high level technicians visited the stall.
We offer a very wide range of products and customers have appreciated from all quarters ranging from mechanical departments to electrical electronics departments. At the stall we generated many enquires mostly for some retrofits and some electronics components and since many of the mills are under consolidation, they have bought second-hand machines and some new machines, for which they require a lot of parts and services, which we are in a position to cater.
So the future looks great for us in this market, and we are well geared up to give relentless services and supports to the mills in Indonesia. Tactically we have got a good range in our armoury and we could very well explore this markets with the support of our agents PT Texcorp International.
Vetal Hitech Machines
The expo was well attended by all leading mills. As consolidation is taking place in Indonesia many mills are acquired by big groups. So there is continuous shift in supplier focus. Also as there is a thought of moving or investing for textile industries in the economic labour available areas, plans for modernising is yet to kick off.
Since Automation is one of the key drivers for future to overcome manpower deficiency and also to understand and tackle deviations in process, the Online monitoring and swift correction is an idea for each machiney manufacturer to work upon.
For Vetal the new contamination cleaning machine models which are superior and generation shift technology attracted many serious enquiries and appreciation in matching the European product standard in the similar class. We received good enquiry from the Aditya Birla Group for all our product range. We are strengthening of existing customer base and also expanding to new ones.
We have identified new opportunities to extend our core competency area of detection and sorting.
Till now we are confined to cotton process and now we are also planning to expand to other territories where solutions are needed, deriving strength from our fundamental R&D capability, strong aftersales service network.
