The company will showcase its automatic cone packing machine integrated with cone transport system from automatic winding, rotor or air vortex spinning machines and cone inspection system based on computer vision and AI
Coimbatore-based Indo Texnology is excitedly looking forward to participating in the ITMA 2023 trade fair to be held at Milan, Italy. The company, which has made a mark for itself in the automation and monitoring systems domains, has lined up an innovative range of products for showcasing at the event. “Besides India most of our present customers abroad are in Bangladesh, Vietnam and Indonesia, i.e., in Asia. We are looking at expanding our presence into other markets. Therefore, ITMA will be important from that point of view. Our products have been quite well-received and we are excited to showcase our existing as well new products at the event,” said Managing Director S Thirupathi.
The company will showcase its automatic cone packing machine integrated with cone transport system from automatic winding, rotor or air vortex spinning machines and cone inspection system based on computer vision and AI. “The automatic cone inspection system is something that we had launched at ITME 2022 held in India. However, that version was meant to be a retrofit on our existing cone packing systems while at the forthcoming ITMA we would demonstrate the version capable of both being used online ACP as well as a standalone cone inspection system,” Thirupathi elaborated.
Automation in True Sense
Speaking about the company’s work on the automation and digitisation front, Thirupathi gave the example of their automatic cone packing machine. “In the case of our system we offer much more than just automation or saving on manual labour. For example:
- The ACP assures packing only with the correct total weight of the yarns cones packed, saving unnecessary excess weight.
- Customised packing data integrated to the mill IT.
- Enables tracking with bar code labelling on cone as well as the package for inventory, loading, transit and at the end-user site.
As regards the cone inspection system, when we talk of quality, the package quality is as much important as the basic yarn quality numbers in terms of its impact on the subsequent process, namely, warping, weaving, knitting, etc. Most importantly, for the first time we are able to integrate automatic inspection with cone packing. It inspects most of the defects that have to be otherwise done manually and does so consistently while totally eliminating any possibility of missing the wrong cones. This it does with cone tip design identification,” he said.
“Many of our customers have remarked that it is inconceivable to think of automating the packing process without a perfect system for automatic inspection. And these defect images are also captured and retained for further analysis and preventive action. With our system the mill has a digital record of its production and package quality which is recorded precisely and continuously. So, our automation process captures the key vital data, which is important for the very survival of the spinning mill and not just some data for the sake of it,” Thirupathi added.
Implementation Cycle
“We hand-hold our customers to reengineer their present manual packing process to a smooth automated one. Our unique advantage is that we first understand the challenges and then caution the customer, thereby offering a complete package. Moreover, our cone packing machine is also very simple, easy to maintain and backed up by round-the-clock support services. This is evidenced by repeat orders of two, three or even five systems in one mill from most of our customers,” Thirupathi pointed out. The company will be displaying all these products at Hall No. 1 Stall No. E311. “We look forward to meeting customers from all over the globe. Our team will be present at the booth to answer all your queries. Our agents from other countries will also be present,” Thirupathi said.
