Sangam was founded in 1984, under the leadership of visionary R P Soni. Since the beginning, the purpose has been to offer products of the highest calibre that are stylishly designed and extremely comfortable. Sangam is one of the leading producers of PV dyed yarn, cotton and OE yarn as well as ready-to-stitch fabric. It is a vertically integrated textile player in India with an annual production of 48 million metres of denim fabric and 35 million metres of PV fabric.

Recently, Sangam Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan by its newly formed wholly owned subsidiary, Sangam Venture Limited. The group has announced investment of Rs 1,521 crore from Sangam India and wholly owned subsidiary Sangam Ventures Limited to set up multiple manufacturing units focussing on spinning, weaving, garments, knitting and processing over 100 acres of land in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.

We recently finished the first phase of our brownfield expansion in Bhilwara to increase our production capacity. Sangam Ventures
Sangam Group has floated a 100% subsidiary, namely, Sangam Lifestyle Ventures Limited for the retail business, focusing on developing new and exclusive chain of stores under the C9 brand name. The company has obtained approval under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme from the Ministry of Textiles for installing 106 circular knitting machines for manufacturing of seamless garments. The product range will comprise garments in various blends such as polyamide, spandex, polypropylene and natural fibres. In FY22, Sangam recorded an outstanding financial performance registering turnover of Rs 2,438 crore. The company manufactures PV dyed yarns, fabric, denim fabric and seamless garments. During 2021-22, the company approved brownfield expansion in the cotton yarn business worth Rs 137.25 crore.
In the first phase, the company expanded the cotton and PV yarn capacity by 10,500 MTPA, raising the total production capacity to 95,000 MTPA. The commercial production at this plant started in the month of April 2022. Sangam’s marquee client base includes Banswara Syntex, Siyaram, BSL, Vimal, RSWM Limited, Arvind Limited, Trident Limited, Marks and Spencer, Reliance Trends, Zivame, Myntra, Lifestyle International, Benetton and Westside, among others. The company’s flagship brands include Sangam Suiting and Sangam Denim. Sangam Suiting operates through a distribution channel and has a pan-India network of 10,000 retailers.
Sustainability Initiatives
Sangam has installed three solar power plants of 13 MW that have helped in bringing down the carbon footprint by at least 20% per annum. The company has also set up one wind power plant with capacity of 5 MW. It is also setting up three effluent treatment plants and four sewage treatment plants to reduce industrial water contamination and reclaim the water for favourable purposes. “We have pledged to grow sustainably alongside the wellbeing of our community and environment. As the world moves toward a carbon-neutral economy, we plan to commit ourselves more firmly to protect the environment,” Soni said.
“We are always striving to utilise less conventional energy while supplementing it with alternative energy sources. Our policy of ‘reduce, reuse and recycle’ demonstrates our firm approach towards environmental conservation. Our communities, like our environment, are equally important to us. As part of our commitment to societal responsibility, we have participated in a number of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Alongside these, we are focusing on all facets of society and establishing a robust governing framework,” he added. In fact, the company is poised to strengthen its focus on innovation so as to introduce new products into constantly evolving markets, both domestic and international.
