Hyosung captures 2020 ISPO Textrends Best Product Award

Mipan® robic high-tenacity nylon selected for best outer layer material

With over 500 material submissions to the annual ISPO Munich Textrend awards, Hyosung proudly captured the Best Product Outer Layer Award for its new Mipan® robic 15 denier high-tenacity nylon. The award ceremony was presented at 2020 ISPO Munich, an international trade show that drew about 80,000 visitors from 120 countries held during January 26-29th. Hyosung presented its new sustainable program of multi-function fibers to global customers, partners and journalists at the show.

“We are incredibly thankful for our Fashion Design Center (FDC) team for developing this winning fabric and garment design,” said Mike Simko, Hyosung Global Marketing Director for Textiles.

Sustainability was a major theme at ISPO and according to Louisa Smith, textile trend consultant, by the middle of the decade, not only will sustainability be the new norm, it has to be the new norm.

At the show, Hyosung introduced its new creora® regen recycled spandex made from 100% reclaimed waste, its new MIPAN® regen robic, the first recycled high-tenacity nylon made from 100% reclaimed waste, and regen polyester made with 100% post-consumer waste. All fibers have been adopted by leading brands for use in various applications such as activewear, intimate wear, workwear, backpacks and bags.

Hyosung’s FDC team presented key trends in its ISPO booth – Plogging, Urban Adventure and Homespun – highlighting forward-looking concept garments made with Hyosung’s multi-function fibers. FDC’s concept garments are designed to help brand and mill partners better visualize and conceive products that can be developed with these materials rather than just looking at fabric swatches.

Another highlight of the show was the preview of Hyosung’s new Creativity Inspired video, which was developed to create more of an emotional connection with its consumers. The company also shared its more technical, B2B video series that focuses on its fibers’ many technical benefits to include UV protection, power stretch and recovery, heat generation, cool touch, soft touch, moisture wicking, rich color, super-chlorine resistance and anti-odor.
