Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) under the aegis of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, has been set up to promote export of handloom products from India on 7th May 1965 with Head office at Chennai and regional office at New Delhi, Liaison Office at Panipat and Guwahati. Presently it has around 1500 registered members.
HEPC services to Handloom Industry
- The Handloom Export Promotion Council has been providing impetus for facilitating the export and giving publicity to the Indian Handwoven products across globe and plays a pivotal role in marketing and promotion of genuine handloom products in international markets.
- Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) is organising participation of around 15 international fairs abroad every year catering to all major product categories with financial assistance from various ministries.
- HEPC also arranges Trade Delegations, organises Buyer Seller Meets and Reverse Buyer Seller Meet.
- Council took lot of efforts in reaching out important handloom clusters especially in untapped areas like Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Karnataka & Other North Eastern states to bring sustainable handloom products to international buyers.
- We have series of buyer magazine covering Handloom production clusters, GI Handloom products towards popularising it to the luxury overseas buyers.
On our 58th Establishment Day, we thank Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Textiles and Commerce and Industry, and Smt. Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Minister of State for Textiles, for their valuable support and various measures to promote Handloom Exports.
