At ITMA 2011, Groz-Beckert (GB) set a world record with its extremely ultrafine gauges – a new knitting technology with the world’s finest knitting cylinder and the finest of precision components guarantying the uniqueness of an ultrafine knitted fabric in gauge E90.
The company says: “The response was overwhelming from the visitors world over, who were very impressed with innovations & especially – capabilities & scope of developments through TEZ. Lot of Indian customers from leading groups for all the product segments offered by Groz-Beckert visited the stall”.
GB is a 150-year-old history and a pioneer in inventing knitting machine needles. Today the product portfolio meets the requirement of the entire textile world with more than 70,000 types of product. With its Technology and Development Centre (TEZ) the company is simultaneously strengthening and expanding its position as the world’s leading provider of precision components, system and services for the most diverse textile production methods.
In the large circular knitting sector, Groz-Beckert presented the Vo-LC-needle. The new needle generation is available for body seamless machines and large circular knitting machines. The Vo-LC-needle combines long years of know-how with numerous patented details. There are good reasons for the label “Perfection in Precision”.
CylinderMaster
The Groz-Beckert CylinderMaster represents simple, reliable, rapid and safe cylinder changes on large diameter circular knitting machines with diameters from 26” up. The machine is an entirely new development that considerably simplifies manual removal and insertion of cylinders on large diameter circular knitting machines. The risk of employee injury or of improper handling resulting in damage to the cylinder is almost completely ruled out.
Due to a needle modification, large diameter circular knitting machines can now be produced at even higher speed. Specifically, Groz-Beckert has made changes to the cheek geometry. At the same time, the service life of the needles has been extended.
GB India
Started in 1960, GB has completed 50 years of its operations in India through its subsidiary Groz-Beckert Asia (GBA). At Chandigarh, GBA has two manufacturing units for knitting & sewing machine needles and a sales team to take care of markets in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. India is the second largest market for GB globally, after China.
In a statement, GB observes: “Growth in Indian market shall be there in future, especially for high quality & high performance products. Quality of final product, shorter lead periods & continued shortage of skilled labour will push the demand for automation in industry and high performance machines and accessories. The current situation due to multiple factors of recessionary trends in US and Europe, volatility in raw material prices, rising cost of finances, labour shortage, etc., may not be encouraging enough, but the textile industry in India has the strength to bounce back once the situation is improving on global scenario”.
