High quality and individual consulting – selecting the right felting needle

Depending on end use, different needles with specific properties are required. Groz-Beckert will not only advise its customers on selecting the right tools, its product range also ensures consistently high process stability while reducing production costs. At the ITMA Asia, the product sector felting presents needle solutions for the filter industry.

GB-3

Visitors furthermore have the chance to discover needle solutions for the fields of geotextiles, filter and paper machine felts, and automotive (structured) from an entirely new perspective. A “glass” needle machine with product samples that can be touched and needle modules that can be extracted make the process a hands-on experience at the ITMA Asia.

A highlight of efficiency is the Twisted felting needle that was already displayed at the ITMA Milan 2015. Due to the defined twisting of the working part the barb arrangement is modified compared to the standard felting needle. This delivers a major benefit in needling efficiency at equal or higher rates of production.

Surface quality or tensile strength

The combination of felting needles GEBECON® and EcoStar® is recommended for high surface quality. The durable GEBECON® needle facilitates good surface characteristics in pre-needling. Thanks to 13 percent lower cross-section in comparison to standard needles, the use of EcoStar® in intermediate and finish needling leads to a top surface quality of the end product.

Custom solutions from experts – Groz-Beckert application consulting

Whether EcoStar®, GEBECON® or Teardrop – these are only three of many types of needles that the Groz-Beckert product line supplies to the filter industry. Groz-Beckert is thrilled to present to its customers a unique needle dispenser at the Groz-Beckert fair stand. It not only provides recommendations, but also sample needles for specific needs.

Gauge Part System and Loop Control® – Tufting with higher quality, efficiency and productivity, from Groz-Beckert

It is the fine points that distinguish a good tool. Especially in tufting, inadequate tools make themselves felt not only in finishing, but also show its limitations when it comes to more precise and better production. Groz-Beckert is presenting its Gauge Part System and Loop Control® – lots of benefits and even more precision in tufting!

The Groz-Beckert Gauge Part System –synchronized tools ensure quality, productivity and cost efficiency

In addition to standard applications, silky smooth surfaces, new combinations of material and highly complex patterning place high quality demands on tufting tools. As a systems provider, Groz-Beckert offers all components, consisting of tufting needle, looper, reed fingers and tufting knife, all from a single source. The Groz-Beckert Gauge Part System boasts a tested and aligned selection of materials, adherence to tight tolerances, and dimensional conformity of all individual tools – the foundation all components within the tufting system need to work together.

In addition to the module variants of the Gauge Part System, almost all versions are also available as individual parts. The Groz-Beckert Gauge Part System thus fulfills all requirements of rug manufacturers for functionality, reliability and durability, delivering a remarkable, cost-saving result.

Loop Control® – the innovation for processing soft-fiber yarns

Rugs that are silky-smooth to the touch are popular and placing new and higher demands on the cutting behavior of tufting tools. Groz-Beckert has developed the Cut Pile Looper with Loop Control® for these special soft-fiber yarns with extremely fine individual filaments (low DPF – denier per filament). The Loop Control® option holds each loop in the cutting area and cuts it in one work step. The result is an even rug surface.

To give you a glimpse into the latest generation of tools, Groz-Beckert is presenting them at the ITMA Asia + CITME using a transparent tufting system of plexiglass. The machine demonstrates the principle of tufting and the interaction of Groz-Beckert tufting tools.

As a reliable partner to the textile industry, Groz-Beckert stands for consistent and constant development of its products. The ever-growing demands of the sector and its customers are thus met.

Card clothing for the highest demands – efficiency and cost-effectiveness as the engines of synthetic spinning

The trend is toward ever finer synthetic fibers and consumers welcome their features, but these fibers are difficult to work with. With doffer wire D40-30-52C CBF, Groz-Beckert has the answer to the challenge posed by synthetic spinning and other highly efficient card wire in the fair kit.

The times when the textile market worked only with natural fiber belong to the past. The reasons for this lie not only in amounts which the natural fiber market can no longer cover, but also in the growing demand for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. There is also a trend to finer man-made fibers and microfibers driven by the demand for special product features which can only be realized with these synthetic fibers. Visitors at ITMA Asia can see the powerful D40-30-52C CBF card wire, Groz-Beckerts response to the demanding challenges posed by synthetic spinning.

Synthetic doffer wire D40-30-52C CBF – for high production processing and better quality

Synthetic doffer wire D40-30-52C CBF features high tooth density and special geometry. It ensures very high and even fiber transfer from cylinder to doffing cylinder, thereby reducing the incidence of trailing fiber hooks. The combination of bent tooth shape and surface property of the doffer wire also creates a self-cleaning effect. In addition to higher yarn quality, Groz-Beckert customers thus also benefit from higher availability of the carding machine.

Thanks to the high-tensile carbon-steel material, the D40-30-52C CBF remains ready for use even when processing matted synthetic fibers. Find out at the ITMA Asia how to reap benefits of up to 30% by reducing yarn defects.

EvoStep® and SiroLock® – unique card wires for unmistakable results

The road to optimum fiber processing is unique to each customer. Groz-Beckert offers a wide range of geometries, steel types and finishing treatments for specific support and advisory services. In order to safeguard this service moving forward, Groz-Beckert is looking to take on a leading role in introducing innovative products. EvoStep® and SiroLock® card clothing bear this out.

EvoStep® is a special card clothing for workers and doffers distinguished by a unique slanted step undercut on the front tooth. This step has a much more pronounced angle than the front angle of the wire itself. The resulting higher degree of fiber control significantly helps reduce raw materials and better distribute fiber in the web in order to achieve the desired web features.

While EvoStep® reduces the use of raw materials to a minimum, SiroLock® doffer and worker wires facilitate more cost-effective web production. The pronounced step below the tip of the tooth tip significantly improves fiber retention capacity. More fibers can be picked up and retained than with traditional card clothing. At the same time, it prevents loss of fiber control and enables high-speed processing.

Carding is Groz-Beckert’s latest field of technology and is represented at the ITMA Asia with a “glass” cotton card. This unique presentation provides a look at metallic wire and revolving tops, as well as stationary flats and cleaning fillets, from an entirely new perspective. Unique as well is the model of a “glass” carding machine, equipped with the latest card clothing for the nonwovens industry.
