The Fong’s Group, serving over 7,000 customers worldwide, is known as one of the key players in the dyeing and finishing machinery industry. Having had a reshape of the organization in the past years, the Hong Kong-based company has profound knowledge and experience of the continuous as well as the discontinuous finishing processes with the well-known brands like Fong’s, Goller, Then, Xorella, Mortforts Fong’s and Fong’s Water Technology in its portfolio.
Both at ITMA Barcelona and ITME Asia + CITME 2012, Fong’s successfully demonstrated its “GREEN Innovation” which has been widely acclaimed across the industry. India ITME 2012 this time witnessed Fong’s latest technology in this field and “one-stop” complete solution in the range of “pre-treatment, dyeing and after-treatment” to fundamentally address the customers’ quest for “lower cost, higher quality and greener environment”.
A series of world renowned equipment in the textile industry was showcased, including the JUMBOTEC high temperature dyeing machine, ALLWIN high temperature package dyeing machine and FC30 program controller.
The need for ecological and environmental protection and the increasing cost of energy in the global textile market are of major concern for the dyeing and finishing industry. Simultaneously, the dye house owner must maintain the high quality products.
The new generation of TEC series high temperature dyeing machine (picture 1) with the state-of-the-art design has achieved the above aspects. It is designed for different dyeing processes with various types of natural, synthetic and blended fibers, aiming to provide efficiency and energy saving.
The TEC series is specially designed for fabrics having tight and crease marks sensitive structure, such as 40S/2, 26S/1, 20S/1, tightly knitted fabric, and sensitive shade (e.g., turquose). With various new functions, cotton reactive dyeing process takes about approximately 248 minutes for light color. Water consumption for reactive dyeing cotton fabric is much lower.
The TEC Series offers various capacities per chamber: 300kg (JUMBOTEC), 250kg (MIDITEC) and 200kg (MINITEC). With the Fuzzy Logic temperature control, the dye liquid temperature deviation can be minimized to ±0.3°C. Specially designed for loose structure type such as terry towel and fleece, the lint collector can accumulate lint at the bottom and discharge it during draining.
Fong’s exhibited its JUMBOTEC (300kg/tube) with FC30 color multi-function controller at India ITME.
The ALLWIN high temperature package dyeing machine offers an unprecedented liquor ratio of as low as 1:4 with its integrated design of REV-pump, heat exchanger and the flow reversing system (patent granted). The newly designed integrated circulating system results in space saving of 30 per cent as compared with the conventional machine arrangement.
The versatile machine is suitable for different types of fibres and their blends: 100 per cent cotton, polyester, polyester/cotton, acrylic, polyamide (nylon), wool, ramie/cotton, etc. Different forms of yarns can be dyed, such as packages, cheese, cones, hanks, loose fibre, etc. The capacity range is 28 kg to 9,129 kg.
As per the test conducted by Fong’s National Engineering Co. Ltd., ALLWIN dyeing machines shorten the total processing time for cotton yarn down to 276 minutes, saving electrical and water consumption by over 40 per cent and chemical cost by 19 per cent compared with conventional machines. The intelligent levelling control system monitors the flow through the package from outside-in to inside-out and vice versa. The system improves the levelling of colour throughout the whole package, thereby reducing yarn loss and increasing reproducibility from batch to batch. The outstanding performance helps reduce production cost by 30 per cent, making it a premium choice for yarn dyeing everywhere.
The main features of this series machine are compact piping layout (the compactness of piping achieved to reduce 25 per cent space saving and extreme low liquor ration of 1:4); fuzzy logic temperature control (controlling the temperature inaccuracy within ±0.3oC; and Intelligent Levelling Control (ILC) system improving levelling throughout the whole package layer and reducing the yarn lost.
FC30 Program Controller
The new generation of FC30 program controller has a 6.5-inch 640×480-pixel, TFT color LCD display together with novel control functions, providing the most cost-effective dye cycle control. FC30 can also integrate with Fong’s and Then TDS central computer system, providing comprehensive control management.
The Schematic diagram clearly shows most of the important operating parameters of each batch in the same screen. FC30 program controller can store up to eight different processing curves. The user can select a maximum of four different processing curves on the same screen and can also define four sets of processing curves with their own combinations.
The estimated utility consumption report of water, electricity and steam of each batch is provided as standard. The actual consumption values can be shown if the machine is equipped with metering devices for water, electricity and steam.
The navigation function provides a number of pre-set dyeing procedures and the corresponding operation parameters. The user can simply select just the product code (type of fabric or yarn), and all the operation parameters can be automatically incorporated into the dyeing procedure and the batch starts immediately.
The user can also create custom database, defining different product codes (type of fabric or yarn) with the required operation parameters and dyeing procedures. He can then simply select the pre-set product code to operate the machine, minimizing repetitive inputs and human error.
The classic in piece dyeing
The latest version of the legendary THEN-AIRFLOW, the SYNERGY 500 G2, is suitable for all kinds of fibre (except pure wool), making it the perfect high temperature choice for every dye house. The machine with the lowest liquor ratio in the market satisfies the highest demands in terms of efficiency and ecology with its patented AIRFLOW- technology.
In addition, the latest model benefits from extra features, like the self-cleaning filter system or the “hot drop” facility, saving additional 25 per cent of process time and giving the customer one batch more per day, not to mention the saving in chemicals, energy and water.
Goller – UNIVERSA conveyor dwelling compartment
Goller has always been in the forefront of innovation, fully dedicated to optimization of production processes for customers to reduce energy consumption and reduce production cost as well as to enhance product quality. In order to meet different process requirements, development and production of continuous wet processing equipment include a variety of washing ranges, mercerizing machines and scouring and bleaching machines for cotton-knitted fabrics, etc. For the prevalence of high energy consumption, labor-intensive and poor process reproducibility in the traditional rope washing, now many of the high-end knitted product manufacturers have been gradually shifting to open width pre-treatments.
It is noteworthy that in the continuous open-width process, in addition to density washing, such as washing after mercerizing, but reactive washing, soaping for washing after dyeing and fixation for washing after acid printing, sufficient time is needed for reaction taking place between the fabric and chemicals. To meet the demand of its customers, Goller has specially launched the new UNIVERSA conveyor dwelling compartment (fabric content in UNIVERSA depends on the length of the chamber).
In the new UNIVERSA, the conveyor belt is made of stainless steel in design which will bring a more stable condition in fabric transport. According to the process requirements, the dwelling time of fabric inside the UNIVERSA can be set in the process management system Goller Multidata.
The UNIVERSA is connected to the filter device which can effectively filtrate the impurities and fluffs coming out of fabrics. It is worth mentioning is that the UNIVERSA is a flexible high and low liquid level adjustment device. So fabric spray washing can be used both at low liquid and high liquid level for dipping washing. The combination of these two processes can make the washing even more flexible. For fabrics of different weight or different dwelling time, the need of fabric piling height are different, and you can adjust the height of fabric soaked in liquid for the best response to treatment.
