Successful partnership with Batliboi for ETP and ZLD solutions
Europrogetti is strengthening its presence in India by establishing a subsidiary, Innovation Water Treatments and Recovery Services (P) Ltd. The new company will provide onsite Operation and Management (O&M) services for effluent and waste water treatment plants installed by them at customer locations across India.
Europrogetti has nearly 25 large ETP and ZLD plants running across many major customer locations in India, including the CETP plant in Tirupur.
Started in 1976, Italian company Europrogetti S.r.l. offers to customers its expertise in the design, installation and management of plants for treatment, purification and reuse of civil and industrial water sewage. The company offers solutions which allow the recycling of more than 90 per cent of treated water and guarantees the lowest running costs thanks to the implementation of the most efficient and advanced technologies in the field. In addition, Europrogetti offers “Zero liquid discharge” (ZLD) plants, with the total reuse of all treated water in the production process.
Mr. Silvano Storti, CEO of Europrogetti, is a pioneer in the field of effluent treatment plants. He is considered an authority in this subject and is highly respected for his knowledge and experience globally and also with customers in the Indian market.
Mr. Storti said: “India is a very important market and hence we have shown our commitment to our customers by starting a new company which will handle after sales, service and spares. This company will also take care of O&M of the existing plants so that customers can best results from their investment”.
He added: “In many cases we find that a customer invests in our plant but are not able to run and maintain it properly which in turn affects the efficiency and productivity of the plant. Hence we are proposing that we can handle the complete O&M using our own trained engineers, at an optimal cost so that customers can focus on their actual production”.
Europrogetti has been present in the Indian market since 2001 in a successful partnership with Batliboi. The company has installed its plant in many key customer installations, including Welspun, Vardhman, Birla Century, Trident, Kitex, KG Group and Banswara. “In Welspun we have totally 6 plants, similarly in Vardhman. We continuously keep upgrading the plant as per customer requirement offering the best quality. The plants are fully automatic requiring minimum maintenance and a total recovery of water upto 98%”.
“We have great experience in water treatment coming from various sectors, such as tannery, textile, food and chemical industry, slaughterhouses, paper, drinks, etc. Particularly, our team is specialised in the field of textile industrial discharge: we can define ourselves as Leaders with more than 450 working installations all over the world including leading global textile brands like Fruit of Loom, Benetton and others”, said Mr. Storti. Europrogetti has also built more than 50 Zero Liquid Discharge plants which are functioning successfully across the globe.
“Our plants have a treatment capacity from 50 to 300,000 cubic meters/day, depurating more than 800,000 cubic meters of water every day. We are currently working in Europe, China, Central and South America, North and South Africa, the Middle East and Asia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan”, he added.
The service offered by Europrogetti S.r.l. includes the engineering design, supply of machineries and materials, installation, start-up of the plant and the total and integrated management of the same. This global solution allows the company to continuously update and develop best technological solutions in terms of process, management cost, choice of the equipment quality and process efficiency. Europrogetti provides O&M and consulting services for both plants built by them and for existing plants that need technical and economic improvements (Revamping).
The solutions offered by Europrogetti are considered as the most advanced and innovative in the field of industrial and civil water treatment and for their recycling. The European Commssion “Eco-Innovation” has approved a project (first in Europe) for the recycling of treated water of 75% in the dyeing production process and the recover of the heat contained in recycled water. This also helps in significant reduction in energy costs and CO2 emissions (“Wasatex” project).
He further said: “When I entered the Indian market many years ago there was no knowledge about biological process of effluent treatment as everyone was making chemical treatment. At Europrogetti, we remove all chemicals and use biological process for treating effluent waste. Our approach is in ensuring that the running cost is at the minimum possible, which in some case is 50% lower than other machines”.
“In India, plants run 365 days and hence we need to maintain our treatment plant while the regular manufacturing process is on. ZLD plant in particular is serious business. If the plant is not working, then the entire production will have to be stopped. We cannot stop the machine or the plant for any reason. Hence we ensure that the plant gets water continuously without any stoppage and more importantly the right quality of water. We also have a system whereby we can control the plant from Italy and any maintenance problem can be rectified in few hours. Our machines are running for the last 10 years with the same level of performance, quality and recovery output and running cost”, added Mr. Storti.
Currently the Indian company has a team of 60 professionals working at customer locations across the country. There are plans to increase the strength to 110 to undertake O&M of the plant. Each O&M will have 12 to 15 people to monitor 24 hours, 365 days of the year. After setting up of the Indian company, customers are feeling even more confident and this helps in improving the business.
