Launched recently, it is a fully recyclable PA6 yarn with 75% recycled content
A circular and recyclable solution that will cater to auto- motive and residential industries specifically in the carpet segment, EqoCycle Yarns is a latest development from the stables of B.I.G. Yarns, a division of Beaulieu International Group. EqoCycle is a fully recyclable PA6 yarn with 75% recycled content that offers the same high performance of virgin PA6 yarn.
The new solution is made with recycled granulates derived from pre-consumer recycled and regenerated PA6 yarn which is certified by Control Union for Global Recycled Standard (GRS) Certification. The recycled yarn decreases fossil fuel use by 58% and uses 27% less energy.
Further, it allows a reduction of 37% of CO2 eq./kg compared to the fossil-based yarn. The environmental impacts of EqoCycle have been calculated through an LCA analysis and verified according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A1. Customers can save 13562 barrels of oil, and reduce 2.700 tons of CO2 emissions for every 1.000 tons of Eqo-Cycle yarn, compared to PA6 traditionally made from virgin materials.
