For those familiar with the Indian textile industry, the name Super Machine Works, should immediately ring a bell. The company has emerged as a frontrunner in the textile machinery domain through its range of SUPER Autoleveller Drawframes, and SUPER Open End Spinning machines.
The company, which is all set to launch another quality edition to its product portfolio – the ‘SC 1 Super Card’ carding machine soon, is not exactly a stranger to the Bangladesh market.
In an exclusive chat Mr. T.S.Sundaram, Joint Managing Director of the company explained,” We made our initial foray into the Bangladesh market way back in 1995. However, it was for a very short period. Now again in 2024 we are reintroducing ourselves in Bangladesh with more technically advanced products. We have an agent who is representing us. They have wide experience in selling capital equipment, and after sales support. ”
Product range
The company is supplying its entire product range in Bangladesh including, Finisher Passage Autoleveller Drawframe machines, Breaker Passage Non-Autoleveller Drawframe machines, and High Speed Semi-Automatic Open End Rotor Spinning machines. “We will be also launching our carding machine, which too will be available in the Bangladesh market,” he added.
Speaking about the advantages that the company offers over its competitors, Mr. Sundaram stated, “We already have an agent there – Ms.Rotation World, located in Dhaka , Bangladesh, who are already into this line with a team of trained Engineers and Technicians. So manpower is not a problem for us. Apart from this we will also be deputing two engineers directly from the company to give them additional training for 6 months. After that they will take care. We also have made arrangements for local availability of critical spares for the market in Bangladesh.”
Technology innovations
The company has always been known for its R&D focus and its ability to produce indigenous products. “We don’t believe in resting on our past laurels. We are always innovating and trying ways to improve our products. We will be introducing new versions of our products at Texfair 2024, which is to be held in the month of June 2024 in Coimbatore, India. The same models will be presented in the Bangladesh market also.
The focus is on two major aspects – Firstly, reduction in overall power consumption aimed at energy savings and secondly, reduction in labour, aimed at improved automation. We have designed our machines in such a way to ensure the reduction in skilled manpower requirement, in operation and handling of our machines.”
The company will be offering the latest versions of SUPER Drawframes in Bangladesh.” We will be supplying our ‘SUPER D1’ and ‘SUPER D2’ Drawframes. We also have two more variants called ‘SUPER D1 plus ’, and ‘SUPER D2 Plus ‘ . While ‘SUPER D1 and SUPER D2’ are both single delivery machines, ‘SUPER D1 Plus ’and ‘SUPER D2 Plus ‘both will be double delivery drawframes.”
The Plus models mention an additional delivery passage indicating the double delivery machines. These are very compact double delivery autoleveller drawframes, with a very unique can changer. They occupy very less space,” he explained.
The company will also be offering it’s soon to be launched ‘SC 1 Super Card’ carding machine and ‘Super RS2’ semi-automatic high speed open end spinning machine in the Bangladesh market. The ‘SUPER RS2’ comes with special joint spinning feature and with the ability to run two different counts on both sides.
Optimistic outlook
The company is confident about the continued good showing of the Bangladesh market and its ability to make further inroads here. “We had done a small market survey about the number of textile mills in Bangladesh and we were quite surprised to note that for such a relatively small country, the scale of textile industry, to which Bangladesh contributes worldwide is huge, as Bangladesh is the second largest apparel garment exporter in the world. That is a great market potential. Plus the fact that the demand for our kind of machines is more in the market and we have no doubt that we will be successful in Bangladesh,” he sums up.
