APM Industries Ltd. has received the National Energy Conservation Award 2013, “First Prize” in the textile sector. The President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, presented the Award to the company at a function attended by leading industrialists and in the presence of Mr. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of State for Power.
During 2012-13, production of the company’s synthetic blended yarn increased to 166 lakh kg from 154 lakh kg in 2011-12 and the net revenue moved up by 12 per cent from Rs. 259 crores to Rs. 293 crores. The company achieved a 75 per cent growth in net profit from Rs. 12.60 crores to Rs. 22.06 crores.
APM Industries’ products had a good demand in the domestic market with better margins. Therefore, the export turnover declined to Rs. 159 lakhs from Rs. 1,443 lakhs of the previous year. In the current year also this trend is expected to continue.
The company continues to modernize its plant and machinery and add balancing equipment. This would enable it to improve productivity, widen its product range and improve the quality of its products.
