WireSpeed
to increase loom speed
ITMA 2011
[preview]
Group Meersschaert will be
presenting its new WireSpeed at
ITMA 2011. “WireSpeed 14” with
separate insertion and extraction
cycle reduces friction, which is the
greatest challenge facing wire
loom manufacturers today. Fric-
tion on wires means energy being
switched into heating up of wires.
This, in turn, means limitation of
the loomspeed.
This problem is
been eas-
ily solved
by using a
s epa r a t e
insert and
extraction
mo t i o n .
The speed
of the extrac-
tion of wires is halved,
resulting in a lower
heating up of wires so
that the loom speed can
be increased. With
“WireSpeed”, produc-
tion can be
i n c r ea s ed
by 40 per
cent or more
as com-
pared to
WireFlex in
some fab-
rics.
G r o u p
M e e r s s -
chaert was
founded in 1945 by George
Meersschaert. The core busi-
ness of the family company is to
manufacture wire looms to pro-
duce pile fabrics or velvets. It also
manufactures wire looms which
have the flexibility to create cut
pile fabrics, loop pile fabrics or a
combination of cut and loop pile.
On top of this, it is very easy to
operate the loom.
All servo motors are fanless, so
that dust can’t disturb the cool-
ing of motors. Also the drivers
are cooled outside the electrical
cabinet, improving the life time.
Further, a friendly interface touch
screen to easily operate the loom
is indeed a new energy saving
concept.
