hemming machine had already
been developed by Schmale in the
1950s. At that time it was a revo-
lutionary idea, but today it is glo-
bally one of the most established
machine types in the industry. The
latest development – SCHMALE-
DURATE 510 – which will be dis-
played at ITMA, is the result of
more than five decades of con-
tinuous further development since
the first production model. The
new version has various improve-
ments in detail.
SCHMALEDURATE will display
the new single-web version of the
fully-automatic cross cutting and
hemming installation. Today many
home textile manufacturers work-
ing for domestic markets have to
deal with hundreds of different ar-
ticles and very frequent changeo-
vers in the making-up process.
The new single web SCHMALE-
DURATE 630 meets these de-
mands with highest flexibility and
best efficiency even with small
batch sizes. Furthermore, it is a
good choice for manufacturers
working for the institutional mar-
ket and its demand for lock stitch
sewing. The efficient capacity and
production reliability of this new
model brings fully-automatic sew-
ing in lock stitch to the next level.
The general approach of all
SCHMALEDURATE folding instal-
lations is to meet the special fold-
ing requirements of home textile
manufacturers. The readymade
goods need to be specially folded
for a great variety of sales pack-
ages. Therefore most different
kinds of folding patterns need to
be realized.
The new version, SCHMALEDU-
RATE 144, provides this keeping
its known accuracy, but now with
up to 20 per cent improved per-
formance.
