Further successful milestones in
the company’s history followed in
quick succession. The frst section-
al warping machine was produced
under the company’s own name
in 1950, and this laid the founda-

tion” business unit. Three years
later, Karl Mayer began building
raschel machines and acquired the
Chemnitz-based company, Malimo
Maschinenbau, in 1992, thus ex-
tending its product range in the feld

Then, as well as now, successful
entrepreneurs need to have forward-
looking ideas and the courage to try
something new, and to do business
in a responsible manner. Karl Mayer
originally set up his new company in
Obertshausen in Germany to repair
and recondition car engines. Just 10
years after setting up his company,
he decided to change over to the lu-
crative business of manufacturing
textile machines, and thus took his
frst step into the unknown.
With his pioneering spirit and
technical know-how, and with
the support of his highly commit-
ted team, this far-sighted engineer

versary next year. This
