Marzoli expanding Indian
operations
Answer: Frankly speaking, I can only tell you about
Marzoli situation on the Indian market, where despite
the general trend that seemed not so good for spinners,
we improved a lot our presence thanks to good orders.
More specifcally we were able to sell a good number
of combing sections and roving frames, mainly in the
South. Furthermore we have also succeeded in getting
an order for a complete spinning installation (right from
blow room through ring spinning frames in Maharash-
tra).
Q: Do you still have the tie-up with Swiss company
Rieter Machine Works?
A: Of course, we have. About 10 days ago, we signed
the renewal of the Supply Agreement with Rieter for our
Roving Machines until 2014. This means that we have
been supplying to Rieter for nearly two decades the
Roving Frames for their installations all over the world.
Q: Why is it that there are not many Rieter-Mar-
zoli roving frames in India even though there are
complete Rieter plants installed?
A: In the frst few years, when complete plants were
supplied, our roving machines were invariably included.
However, lately Rieter leaves the customer choose more
economical solutions that anyway are also less perform-
ing in terms of effciency and fnal quality. With the ex-
cellent technology of our roving frames, I am confdent
that even this difference in price will be covered due
to superior performances. Moreover, our latest comber
has been well accepted in the Indian market and repeat
orders have started coming in, maybe this is also another
reason why Rieter is not suggesting our roving frame as
in the past. We are confdent of positioning ourselves
in the top category for the combing machines as we are
already for our roving frames.
Q: What do you feel the prospects of Marzoli in
India?
A: We had very good success during the recent ITMA
exhibition not only from India but also from several
countries where negotiations are in a advanced stage.
w
Marzoli is opening a new facility in Bangalore for
sales, service, spare parts and customer support to the
Indian market. It will also be shortly manufacturing the
Marco Polo automatic doffng components for being
retroftted on the existing ring frames.
Even more important is that Marzoli and its agent in
the North, Eastern Engineering Company, Mumbai, are
organising and opening electronic service stations for
assistance and spare parts supply in order to provide im-
mediate service and support to Indian customers.
Making an assessment of the Marzoli in India dur-
ing his recent discussion with The Textile Maga-
zine, Mr. Stefano Bordoni, Sales Manager of Indian
operation, gave his expert answers to several related
questions raised by the journal.
Excerpts:
