ACIMIT hosting ITMFWorkshop
this year
events
The International Textile Manu-
facturers Federation (ITMF) will
be holding its Textile Machinery
Workshop & Dinner 2012 in Milan
on April 19. The event is organ-
ized in a different country every
year, and the Association of Italian
Textile Machinery Manufacturers
(ACIMIT) will co-host this year’s
event at its Milan headquarters.
The workshop will deal with the
current status of the global textile
and textile machinery industry and
its future prospects. There will be
participation in it by the ITMF Ex-
ecutive Board as well as a signifi-
cant number of leading textile ma-
chinery manufacturers from around
the world, especially from Italy.
“The ITMF Textile Machin-
ery Workshop & Dinner 2012 is a
unique opportunity for high-level
representatives of leading interna-
tional textile machinery companies
and honorary officers of ITMF to
meet and discuss the views and ex-
pectations of the global textile and
textile machinery industries. The
presentation of the preliminary re-
sults of ITMF’s International Textile
Machinery Shipment Statistics 2011
and additional presentations provide
the ideal basis for in-depth discus-
sions and analyses”, says Mr. Bashir
Ali Mohammad, ITMF President.
Mr. Sandro Salmoiraghi, ACIMIT
President, commented: “It’s impor-
tant to have events such as these
where different operators in the tex-
tile sector can meet to discuss and
find solutions to the issues facing
global markets. We’re absolutely
delighted to be hosting this ITMF in-
itiative, and we’re certain that it will
provide many of our manufacturers
participating with an opportunity to
draw comparisons with the world’s
most prominent textile players.”
Hosting the workshop also pro-
vides ACIMIT with an opportunity
to give substance to its recent deci-
sion to join ITMF as an associated
member.
“ACIMIT gives priority to devel-
oping more frequent relations with
all of the different players in the tex-
tile sector,” says Mr. Salmoiraghi.
“At a global level, Italy’s textile ma-
chinery industry is one of the major
partners for many textile manufac-
turers. Virtually every country with
a textile manufacturing presence
has Italian machinery installed in
its factories. Thanks to the develop-
ment of these relationships, we can
strengthen Italy’s leadership posi-
tion as a technology supplier in the
textile industry.”
ACIMIT represents around 300
companies employing close to
12,400 people and producing ma-
chinery for an overall value of
about 2.7 billion euros, with exports
