APRIL 2012
environment
March 22 was celebrated as the World Water Day,
and the Spanish company Jeanologia that special-
izes in garment finishing has asserted that G2
is a water-friendly technology contributing to
conservation of this natural resource. Already
over 150 machines throughout the world
are saving 15,000,000 litres of water dai-
ly, sufficient to provide 75,000 people
with enough water per day. Enrique
Silla of the company says that “by
2015, with the sales forecast of
G2 technology, we will be
saving enough water for
a staggering 10,000,000
people per day”.
Consumption of wa-
ter per person per day
is based on an average
of 200 litres, which
includes
drinking,
personal hygiene and
household use such
as washing clothes
and home cleaning.
Bern Kolb, CEO of
the prestigious Think
Thank Club de Marra-
kesh, has stated that in 2030
demand of water for human
consumption will be 40 per cent
more than that of today. This consti-
tutes an enormous challenge for industry,
especially textiles. This is the reason why Jeanologia, a
company highly conscious of the environment, has de-
veloped all its technologies ethically, ecologically and
efficiently. The company is especially sensitive to the
lack of water and is preparing to launch another new
technology, E-Soft, based on nano-bubbles which treats
garments to soften them with minimal water usage and
virtually no residues.
E-Soft transforms the air in the atmosphere into nano-
bubbles which allows 98 per cent water saving, along
with a reduction of 79 per cent in energy and 80 per cent
in chemical products. E-Soft makes garment softening
possible without using water or chemical, allowing a
considerable saving in energy compared to tradition-
al processes.
Enrique Silla has further stated that Jeanologia
has been able to pass on its ethical and ecologi-
cal value to important labels that are now us-
ing the technology on their garments. Levi’s
are using it on their “waterless” jeans. The
chain store Jack & Jones has used it
with its “Low Impact Denim”, Pepe
Jeans London used it to launch
its free water line “True Blue”,
and the Italian label Replay
not only uses the ozone but
also the Jeanologia laser
technology. The multi-
national Hindu Klran
has launched its “Sav-
ing Water” collection
using G2 machinery.
Jeanologia counts
not only on its e-Soft
technology. In 2009
it launched its highly
successful eco-friend-
ly washing machine
G2, which uses oxygen
+ ozone to “fade” jeans
and sport garments, which
processes textiles without wa-
ter or chemicals.
Moreover, Jeanologia has also
promised to help those less fortunate by do-
nating a proportion of its profits to projects in Africa
to give fresh drinking water to villages which currently
have no access to this vital comfort. The year 2011 saw
the digging and construction of Jeanologia 1 + 2, fresh
drinking water wells in Zogo, one of the poorest areas of
Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso.
Enrique Silla is really grateful to all clients and cus-
tomers of Jeanologia for using the G2 technology to
help reduce water usage throughout the world and
thanks them also for helping to bring clean fresh water
to the the villages in Africa.
