New Business Manager for
Karl Mayer Malimo
Mr. Jochen Schmidt, who has
been with Karl Mayer for almost 10
years, has been appointed new Busi-
ness Manager of Karl Mayer Mali-
mo Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH
with effect from April 1.
Mr. Jochen Schmidt has his roots
in the technical sector. His training
as an industrial mechanic was fol-
lowed by the study of precision en-
gineering in Frankfurt. After work-
ing in development at Heraeus in
Hanau he came to Karl Mayer in
2002 and found his niche there.
Mr. Schmidt had his first post in
the ‘Central Construction’ division,
where he was responsible for look-
ing after basic machine components
as head of department. At the end of
2005 he took over the ‘International
Business Development’ sector in or-
der to co-ordinate and lead machine
projects across the groups. From
2008 he added the technical leader-
ship of Karl Mayer (China) to this
position.
Now Mr. Jochen Schmidt is look-
ing forward to further challenges in
Chemnitz. In his third position in the
group of companies, he would like to
develop the high-value technologi-
cal products in the future-oriented
business sector further in a creative
manner and to continue developing
the chosen path as the system sup-
plier with an eye on customers.
In addition, the integra-
tion of the technical
textiles business sec-
tor, including the production of com-
posites machines and weft-insertion
warp knitting machines more firmly
into the Karl Mayer Group is a task
to which Mr. Jochen Schmidt brings
a great deal of experience. Because
of his wide-ranging activities he has
a knowledge of the specifics and the
structures, and also knows many
colleagues at Karl Mayer locations
worldwide.
Now, in order to settle down in
Chemnitz, he will set up a second
domicile in the Saxon industrial city.
Working on site, personal contacts,
and settling down in the region will
be important to the native of Baden-
Württemberg.
