EKKI partners with URC to build next-gen Hyper Factory

India’s leading manufacturer of advanced pumps and water technologies, EKKI, has partnered with
URC, one of Asia’s top construction technology firms, to build a state-of-the-art Hyper Factory in
Coimbatore, India. With 70 years of experience and over $250 million (₹2,000 crore+) in annual
revenue, the Bengaluru-headquartered URC is a leader in high-tech, large-scale construction
projects.

The new EKKI Hyper Factory will set a global benchmark for advanced manufacturing,
sustainability, and innovation. This column-free, single-span facility will integrate the KOOT
Advanced Components Unit, KKV Labs for cutting-edge design and engineering, Quantum Testing
& Quality Facilities, and the EKKI Academy. It will enable EKKI to produce high-precision pumps,
systems, and components for global markets, reinforcing its commitment to the “Make in India, For
the World” vision.

Arumugam P, Chief Executive of EKKI, said, “To build world-class products, one needs world-
class factories and people.” He stated that URC, renowned for executing complex projects such as
data centres, metro systems, and advanced giga factories, brings invaluable expertise. URC’s
experience in building world-class facilities for projects like Bengaluru International Airport, Bosch,
GE, Siemens, TVS Emerald, Amazon, Microsoft, Ola Future Factory, Shell, and Tata Electronics
will be instrumental in the project.

Kanishka Arumugam, Co-CEO of EKKI, described the project as “more than just a
manufacturing unit—it is a machine that builds machines.” EKKI’s Smart Production System will
integrate machines and workstations while fostering creativity and future-focused work. The EKKI
Academy will train and re-skill the workforce for this next-gen environment. He also emphasized
EKKI’s commitment to gender diversity and increasing women’s representation at all levels. The
EKKI Hyper Factory will incorporate solar energy, water conservation, and circular economy
principles, underscoring EKKI’s dedication to environmental stewardship and quality.

The EKKI Hyper Factory is being designed by architect L. Sattanathan of TSO Design Commune,
with European manufacturing consultants. A Construction Committee, including Mr. Giuliano
Matteazi, Mr. Vinay Patil, Dr. Sunil Ganguly, Mr. Ramprasath Palanisamy, and Mr. Vivek Francis,
is overseeing the project.

EKKI is deeply committed to the state of Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore, leveraging the region’s
skilled workforce, engineering expertise, top research labs, and strong supply chain for advanced
pump manufacturing.

EKKI, with four state-of-the-art production facilities and an international joint venture alliance with
global leader Germany’s HOMA, exports to over 25 countries. The Arumugam family, which also
owns Deccan Pumps Pvt. Ltd., acquired Deccan Industries’ assets and facilities in 2013. Since
then, the group has significantly enhanced the manufacturing systems and capabilities of both the
EKKI and D+Deccan brands. The family also runs non-profit institutions supporting higher
education and elderly care.
