Durst of Italy has announced the third Kappa 320 installation, just shortly after its market launch late in 2013. The Zorlu Textiles Group, Turkey’s largest producer of home textiles, is the latest company after Mascioni of Italy and Colorprint of Spain to add the digital high-performance printer to its portfolio.
Extensive testing at the Durst production site in Brixen in February was followed by a successful machine acceptance. In April, the Kappa 320 began production at the Zorlu site in Turkey where it complements the two existing Reggiani printer systems. The first production test has shown that Kappa 320 is more than 30 per cent faster than the existing machines and delivers a higher print quality.
With the Kappa 180 V2 and Kappa 320, Durst offers two high-performance industrial printers for digital textile production. Both feature the same inkjet technology, but differ in printing width. The Kappa 180, with a maximum printing width of 195 cm, is ideal for production in the apparel industry. It is also used for furniture and fabric manufacture.
The Durst Kappa 320, which was developed specifically for home textile needs, features a maximum printing width of 330 cm. This enables it to digitally print interior decor and decorative materials such as blankets, bed linen, table linen, curtains, drapes and advertising materials such as flags and banners across their full width.
