Luwa, founded in Switzerland in 1935, is a global market leader in textile air engineering and a quality and performance leader with a global brand in the fibre and textile industry. The Luwa Group’s activities include the design and engineering of single components and whole systems as well as manufacturing, assembly, installation and after sales services. With subsidiaries in India, China, Singapore, US and Turkey as well as agents in more than 60 countries, the Group has a significant global installed base that is the source of Luwa’s deep understanding of the technical requirements and local customer needs.
With India being one of the biggest and most important textile markets in the world, Luwa has established its own subsidiary in Bangalore in 1993. Today, Luwa India employs over 200 people and is Luwa’s biggest manufacturing site worldwide.
With a unique knowledge base in applications, products and systems, the company’s mission is to contribute to efficient production, environmental benefits and safer workspaces.
High performance textile mills have great demands on room climate and process air. Air engineering plays a vital role in controlling these conditions and providing the necessary climate for machines and processes. Efficient air engineering is paramount for economical production. Using highest efficiency components in the air conditioning and humidification plant like the Luwa B600 Axial Fan series in combination with electronic controls ensure a future proof mill.
Leading the way with new control technology and Internet of Things (IoT), Luwa recently added a major development to its DigiControl suite of air engineering controls. DigiControl 7 is the latest in a line of market-leading systems from the company.
Renowned for its quality and performance in the control of textile air conditioning and filtration, Luwa has now produced a combination of hardware, software and cloud services to move industrial environments to a new level.
DigiControl 7 is capable of precisely controlling industrial environments with minimal human intervention. Specifically, spinning and weaving operations with natural fibers will be closely maintained for maximum yield and quality.
Luwa’s integration with Nederman allows it to leverage its parent company’s innovative Insight remote monitoring platform. Insight brings real-time oversight to production and filtration operations, integrating sensor data across the cloud. With the Luwa-Assist functionality the company’s air engineering experts regularly check performance measures and give status updates. Client-defined notifications and visualization of performance trends support proactive maintenance efforts. If there is a problem, the experts can recommend what action should be taken and when. The result is improved uptime for the client´s process, lower parts usage and predictive care so that unplanned or emergency repairs can be avoided.
Ulf Mattisson, CEO of Luwa, commenting on the latest system states: “Our strength is to harmonize equipment, control and applications knowledge. DigiControl 7 builds on that strength with top-class controls technology and IoT solutions.”
