DHL Express has opened a new service centre facility in Ludhiana covering over 3,200 sq.ft. with a capacity to handle a volume of over 1,50,000 shipments a year.
Inaugurating the new facility in the presence of Mrs. Mridula Jain, CMD, Shingora Textile Ltd., and Chairperson Shawl Club, Ludhiana, Mr. RS Subramanian, SVP & MD, DHL Express India, said: “DHL has been servicing customers in Ludhiana for over 25 years now. The new expanded facility will enable us to provide greater efficiencies in meeting the supply chain requirements of our customers and support in delivering our promise of offering best performing transit time for all import and export shipments from this belt.”
DHL Express services a wide variety of industries in Ludhiana like textiles, hosiery, bicycle manufacturers, auto part dealers, precision equipment dealers, and manufacturers of electronic goods, tyres and tubes. “Ludhiana is a key industrial hub of Punjab and is one of the leading business centers in the whole northern region of India. There are industries of all categories and scale, and our strong presence and reliable service can support these industries by facilitating trade and making them globally competitive,” he added.
The new service centre will serve as a DHL’s local pick-up, delivery and sorting centre and will also cater to customer requirements of same day delivery in Jalandhar, Phagwara, Amritsar, Mandi, Gobindgarh and Moga. All Ludhiana shipments now get the same day connection to Delhi, which means customers can look forward to an improved service offering for international shipments and therefore faster processing and reduced transit time.
