The company processes cotton, viscose and synthetic blended knit fabrics. With the help of Monfongs’ stenter it is able to successfully process 100% viscose and viscose lycra blended fabrics which are very delicate to handle.
Danavarshini Exports (P) Limited (Danex) is a successful example of Tirupur’s entrepreneurial drive. Established with a vision of success, Managing Director N Sreedhar and the business’ co-founders, S Ramachandran and K Tamizharasan, have seen the company steadily expand over the last two decades. The seamless communication and speed in action are the company’s strong points, according to Tamizharasan. He further adds that they have a strong, technically qualified team in textiles by which they have the capability of meeting any quality need of their buyers.
Providing an overview of the infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities of the organisation, he states that the Tirupur headquarters has 700 sewing machines. There are two more production facilities where a total of 300 machines are housed. Elaborating, he says, “We have our own knitting and processing units which can produce 10 tons per day. We have a plan to expand production in the near future.” The company is well-known for its dedication to environmental responsibility. It takes great pride in proclaiming itself as a leader in sustainability.
And there is a reason: all of the water used in the colouring process is reclaimed, not even a drop of water is drained off. Every day, the company recycles and reuses 95% of the waste water, the remaining 5% is evaporated and the sludge is disposed to approved vendors. All the sustainability certifications have been obtained, including GOTS, Scan Audit, Rap Audit, SA 8000, BSI, REACH, OKATEX and GRS. In the next five years, Tamizharasan intends to see the company develop at a CAGR of 20% per year. It is estimated that the company’s current revenue is Rs 150 crore and its goal over the next five years is to reach Rs 300 crore.
Long-Standing Relationship with A.T.E.
Danex and A.T.E. have a close working and reliable business relationship. Four years ago, Danex had a plan to install a stenter machine in its existing process house. It compared and analysed the features of various stenter machines available in the market. Finally, it was convinced of the supremacy of Monforts’ technology and purchased Montex 6500 model stenter machine from Monfongs through A.T.E. The stenter was installed and commissioned well within the said time line by A.T.E. Adequate training was provided by the service team of A.T.E. to the Danex team for the optimum usage of the stenter machine.
Danex is processing cotton, viscose and synthetic blended knit fabrics. With the help of Monfongs’ stenter it is able to successfully process 100% viscose and viscose lycra blended fabrics which are very delicate to handle. Since many processors are unable to handle the said fabrics, Danex has established a reputation in the market by achieving excellent results of 100% viscose fabrics. It has now added one more Monfongs’ stenter, which is under commissioning. Having good experience with A.T.E. because of Monfongs’ stenter, Danex has also placed orders for a few more machines with A.T.E.
According to Danex, A.T.E. is bringing world-class technology to the Indian market. Apart from supplying the machine, A.T.E. educates customers for optimising the results and also provides regular after-sales services. One of the main reasons for Danex to go ahead with A.T.E. is the attitude towards customer satisfaction. According to Tamizharasan, who went into depth about the impact of the pandemic on his company’s business, “Business was better after the first lockdown and since the entire world was shut down we didn’t experience many problems with managing orders. After the second lockdown, the company ran into problems since the market was working and the stock had dropped to a dangerously low level. Therefore, we demanded that everything be shipped by air. However, the same was managed effortlessly with the virtues of grit, integrity and experience.”
In addition to the aforementioned, 1,000 employees of Danex have been immunised at no cost to the company and the company is planning to vaccinate an additional 300 people, shortly. Prioritising employee safety as the most important piece in the organisation creates the necessary motivation for employees, who are thus more inclined than ever before to work tirelessly in order to help the firm succeed. Danex and A.T.E. have been able to work together so successfully because they both agreed on the philosophy of serving the customer and their staff to the best of their abilities. To date, A.T.E. has proven to be an invaluable partner in maintaining the trust of Danex’s customers. The companies have successfully collaborated, and the results have been profitable as well as lasting.

A.T.E.’s relationship with Danex
“The promoters of Danex have thorough knowledge about textiles, especially processing. When they were planning for adding a stenter machine to their existing process house, they studied the features in detail which was a great learning for us. Since they are processing cotton, viscose and synthetic blends, it was important for them to decide the right specification and technology. We ensured smooth execution and Danex is very happy with the performance. Uniform heat setting helped them to improve the dyeing results and they have established the finishing process of viscose and viscose and lycra blended fabrics by using our stenter machine.
“While the second stenter machine is under commissioning, Danex is being requested by their customers to add the third machine since the volume of viscose and lycra blended fabrics is increasing. After installing our Monfongs’ stenter at Danex, we have received many orders from Tirupur and we have well-established our product in the knit segment. As such we can offer a complete package of machinery for processing knit fabrics either in tubular or open width form and we have created good references in the knit segment across India.”
