The Cotton Egypt Association (CEA), responsible for globally authenticating Egyptian Cotton, is exhibiting at ITMA (Booth H2-E203) for the first time this year. The CEA exhibition booth at ITMA is dedicated to promoting and preserving the authenticity and quality of Egyptian cotton, renowned worldwide for its exceptional characteristics. We cordially invite you to visit our booth and discover the remarkable characteristics of Egyptian cotton firsthand. Engage with our field experts and learn more about Egyptian Cotton and the Egyptian Cotton Logo License.
Established in 2005 as a non-profit organization, CEA’s mission is to protect and promote the value-add of the Egyptian Cotton™ identity in supply chains end-to-end, under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade & Industry along with the Alexandria Cotton Exporter’s Association (ALCOTEXA).
Through an exclusive partnership with Bureau Veritas, we provide testing and auditing services to verify Egyptian Cotton™ at any stage of the supply chain. Our goal is to protect the Egyptian Cotton™ name and brand and reassure our consumers that Egyptian Cotton™ is 100% pure.
To eliminate falsely labeled goods from the supply chain, we employ traceability, total transparency, and a revolutionary DNA testing process that can recognize and identify the genomic fingerprint of Egyptian Cotton. We strongly encourage all accredited manufacturers to use the Egyptian Cotton™ logo to certify that their products are made of our 100% pure Egyptian Cotton™.
Our licensing program at CEA accredits merchandise made from 100% Egyptian Cotton. In fact, leading retailers worldwide insist that their manufacturers be accredited by CEA to guarantee the authenticity of Egyptian cotton products.
It’s worth mentioning that Egyptian Cotton is globally recognized as the best cotton in the world. This is supported by a study we conducted in collaboration with PBM, the affiliate company of Home Textiles Today, in the United States, regarding the perception of US consumers of cotton. The study revealed that 89% of US consumers perceive Egyptian Cotton as the highest quality, and 61% are willing to pay a premium price for it. In summary, the Egyptian Cotton™ name stands for superior quality, softness, strength, and durability.
CEA is also supporting sustainability by collaborating with the Better Cotton Program launched in Egypt by UNIDO in 2020. We have successfully implemented sustainability measures in our fields, and we proudly represent all sustainable Egyptian Cotton. At CEA, we believe that sustainability is not a luxury; it is a mandatory effort that we must all adopt to cater to sustainable retailers globally and save our beloved planet.
