By Ganesh Kalidasan

At the small town of Alba in Italy, Robert Corino set up Corino Macchine SpA in 1983 with the sole intension of providing high quality machines for the textile dyeing and finishing sector. Under the leadership of Mr. Corino, Founder and the current President of the company, Corino grew multifold, moving from a small work station to a bigger manufacturing facility at Monticello d’Alba.

Today the company has its machines operating in and around 70 countries worldwide, with a clientele of more than 1,500 customers and the most prestigious textile machinery manufacturers. Turkey and India are among the major markets for the company.

A company that was started with just a few employees grew over the years and has currently more than 200 professionals working directly. Corino’s sales network is composed of around 50 multicards agents looking after both marketing and service in their region, plus two distributors in the US and Japan. For most other countries, local technicians, trained by company professionals, as well as spare parts stocks are available on site.

Corino produces machines suitable for different kinds of fabric, as well as nonwoven materials and the production range covers:

  •  Rope openers with slitting devices.
  •  Squeezers and hydroextractors.

  •  Introduction and exit equipment for finishing machines.

 Superslit Concept

This is a flexible system that assures minimum tension on elastic and delicate fabrics, combined with higher productivity. The concept is also popular for opening and controlled slitting of tubular knitted fabric, and of late this technology is being used for the opening non-woven fabrics from the rope form.

The production line-up includes automatic turntable, soft rope de-watering, de-twister, opening basket, opening module and folder exit. When commissioned along with an antipilling system for fabrics to be pre-treated with enzymes, the set-up becomes complete eventually providing top quality results for the customer.

Production has always been 100 per cent Made in Italy with an export share of over 70 per cent. From its annual turnover, the company spends close to 10 per cent for R&D which in turn reflects on its product performance and commitment to innovation, quality and reliable after-sales service.

With its continuous innovations and three decades of service to the industry, Corino is slowly establishing a name for itself in India by forming a successful network of satisfied customers. The SuperSlit concept machine is one among the few widely prevalent on the Indian market. A.T.E., the proud Indian agent, looks after complete sales, service and also maintenance of basic stocks for all its machinery.
